Cheer Up With Esteem Building Affirmations

Updated on January 14, 2011

The following Affirmations were written by a woman who used them to overcome extreme abuse as a child resulting in self hate and self defeat. By this method she has become masterful and exemplary in the achievement of reality-based self esteem. Her work is offered freely to kindred spirits everywhere. For similar affirmations daily go to the depression-and-self-esteem home page at

'I am moving from darkness towards the light - I am growing and evolving into the person I want to be.' This is what I am feeling today and it is a wonderful feeling...”  by the author of the following affirmations

I am open and willing to change.

By being myself and doing what I love, I make a significant contribution to my life.

I am moving from darkness towards the light - I am growing and evolving into the person I want to be.

I am filled with the joy of life.

I learn enthusiastically.

This is a new and wonderful day for me; there will never be another day like this one so I am making it the best that I can.

I am overflowing with joy over each and every one of my accomplishments.

I am aware that "there" is no better than "here". My success begins in this very moment.

In my own time and my own way, I am creating miracles in my life.

As I allow myself to feel my negative feelings, I heal them.

It is okay to allow my feelings to be expressed and released.

I am free to choose. Everything I am and everything I become is under my own control.

I put my whole heart into my successes. I don't hold anything back and I don't let anyone stop or discourage me.

The more I love myself the more others love me.

I am attractive, desirable and lovable.

My own belief in lack and limitation is the only thing limiting me.

Every positive action I take in the direction my dreams and goals will reinforce my belief in myself and my ability to accomplish my ideals.

In order to enjoy high levels of self-confidence, I have to organize my life in such away that I feel in control of what happens to me.

I learn and grow from my mistakes rather than deny them or use them to confirm my unworthiness.

I nurture myself with kind, supportive self-talk.

I am developing new and positive habits. I have the desire to put all my energy into moving forward and building a healthy life.

I am the living, joyous expression of life. I am my own person.

Today may seem to be the same as yesterday, bit I have the opportunity to experience it in an entirely different way.

My faith will keep me going through those moments between steps.

What I desire is possible because I am worth it.

Today I choose to do things for me that me feel good about myself.

I am worthy of positive changes today.

I choose to dream my own dreams.

I release old beliefs and create new supportive ones.

Fears and doubts get smaller when I talk about them.

Walking away from something that is bad for me is not quitting.

I have the resources to develop my creative expression.

I can choose my attitude and I choose to feel great.

I respect the freedom and individuality of others.

I have all the strength I need to do all that is good and right in my life.

I deserve to be happy and successful.

I accept all the feelings that come with change and growth.

Today I am able to love myself and see myself for the special person that I am.

I am the only one who has the power to stop myself from feeling wonderful.

It is okay to feel good about myself and I do!

I will not let the lessons or experiences of the past dampen my enthusiasm for new beginnings.

I love and respect my intelligent creative mind at all times.

I will look for the beauty in every problem I have to solve.

I am powerfully positive in everything I think, do, and say.

Hi not white trash. Some people benefit from doing just that, especially when those convictions are rooted in realistic truth, rather than pretense. The author give many ideas that apply in fact to all of us. Thanks for your honest comment. It is important, if you ask me, that we maintain honesty about ourselves and what we really think about all things, but we honestly can find good reasons to love ourselves, instead of putting ourselves down. If there is a God. would He think Himself full of contemptale qualities. Somebody that great would not, I would expect, and we don't have to look at ourselves that way for many of the reasons He probably wouldn't, and He must be smart enough to be right about that.Sorry for the rant!lol.

These are some of her best. She wants to stay unknown. I guess she has her own good reasons. Oh well. She will be happy about some of these comments because she wants to benefit others with her works, so thank you, psikotik1.

The lady who wrote these affirmations went through hell in her childhood but is doing much better partly because she learned how to apply affirmations to improve her state of mind and emotion. She posts her origianl affirmations and other stuff daily at her yahoo group called depression-and-self-esteem. You can put those words with the hyphens in the "find a group" at yahoo groups page to find out more about it. I am in the group because I am trying to become more positive about my self and my outlook. It cheers me up each morning to read the regular posts. Thanks for your comment, Darlene Sabella
