Chiropractic for Healthy Bodies

The Human Spine and back problems

Source

Let’s take the mystery out of the practice of chiropractic.

Chiropractic means done by hand. The first chiropractic manipulation took place in 1895 by Daniel D. Palmer D.D. He is acknowledged as the founder of chiropractic healing. His methodology is still practiced today and is favored by many patients. In fact, many of us prefer a Palmer Method trained chiropractic. Palmer method is considered more hands on than other training.

From the beginning Chiropractic manipulation was a cross between massage and meridian therapies. It harmonizes in many ways with the Chinese health art and science of acupuncture. So, in a way it was coming to the same conclusions that the Chinese came to over five thousand years ago when they created acupuncture.

Many cultures have hands on healing methodologies from the Chinese, the Indian, and even the Alaskan Inuit, Indigenous people. So, a form of hands on healing is quite well known in many cultures.

Chiropractic philosophy emphasizes spine wellness. The chiropractic philosophy melds body healthfulness with the over all ability if the body to heal itself. Thus, true health is when your body works as it was designed to work. Chiropractic philosophy has embraced that the mind and body relationship is integral to total health long before other health philosophies have done.

Your First Chiropractic Appointment

A Chiropractic, done by hand, appointment usually involves x-rays, flexibility and muscle monitoring. The subsequent chiropractic appointments are all performed on the chiropractic couch where your spine is carefully manipulated back into the correct alignment. Most people feel relief immediately after the manipulation.

My first venture with a chiropractor was when I was ten years old. An accident shocked my neck to becoming permanently straight. Healthy necks have a gentle arch in them. It is my personal testimony that I have a full range of neck movement and no pain due to the treatments that I have received through-out my lifetime. I am very comfortable in feeling when my neck has become out of alignment. That is when I call and make a chiropractic appointment.

The time to go in for a treatment is when the problem first presents itself. The human body functions better with regular maintenance rather than waiting until the problem is severe. This is common sense.

Many people, including me, find that regular back maintenance helps us avoid both over the counter and prescription pain medications. It is important to compliment the chiropractor back treatments with a harmonious form of exercise. Two recommended exercises are yoga and swimming.

When looking for a chiropractor, check the local list by searching on the Internet. Just put this on your search engine: “Chiropractor in Name of your City.” Call them up and ask if they are Palmer Method Chiropractors. Also, check how much they charge. If you have insurance, check if it covers chiropractic care.

You are on your way to better health!

I am so happy you posted this.

Chiropractic therapy saved my life. Before that, always in pain, always. Crooked hip due to a fall, causing curvature in my spine, pain in my neck... Chiropractor has fixed my neck, hips, back, and jaw. Even prescribed orthopedics to me, and I have never walked so pain free.

Very glad to see this information posted!

My chiropractor utilizes a combination of mainly Pro Adjuster and manual adjustments. Also advocates massage and physical training in combination to build strength.
