Choosing an Affordable Treadmill - Manual Treadmills

An Affordable Treadmill - Choosing a Treadmill That Matches Your Needs and Budget

An affordable treadmill that does the things you want and need for it to do is well worth the time and effort you will expend searching for a treadmill that is priced right but not cheaply made.

If you are wanting to use a treadmill for walking or light jogging several times a week, perhaps a manual treadmill will suit your needs best. Manual treadmills tend to be very affordable since you - and not a costly motor supply the power. Some say you get a better workout by supplying the energy to move the walking surface as you go.

You can find good, sturdy, and affordable treadmills that are in the $100 to $200 price range. Compared to motorized treadmill that can cost hundreds - even thousands - more, they represent a real bargain.

Let's take a closer look at some of the most popular manual treadmills available today.

The Stamina InMotion II Manual Treadmill is a very popular and affordable manual treadmill. The walking/jogging deck is 42 inches long. That should be enough for walking and some jogging - but not lengthy enough for serious running. While this treadmill is self-powered, it does feature a battery operated console from which you can track your speed, calories burned and other workout metrics. It folds up so that you can save space or store it out of the way when it is not being used. The dual weighted flywheels keep this treadmill operating smoothly and quietly. You can find it for sale online for less than $200.

The Phoenix 98516 Easy Up Manual Treadmill is another well made and affordable treadmill. We found that it had similar features to the Stamina II InMotion but at a price point about $50 less. ( Note that prices change daily).

It has a fold up frame so you can get it out of your way when you need to. The walking/jogging deck is 41.5 inches deep. It also has a battery powered console to deliver workout information to you while you work out.

The Phoenix Denise Austin 98510 Easy Up Manual Treadmill is very similar to the Phoenix 98516. It is endorsed by Mrs. Austin and comes with a Denise Austin Indoor Walking Workout. We found it priced about $140.

The Cory Everson Manual Treadmill was priced around $150 when we researched it. It has much the same features you'll find on the other above mentioned manual treadmills. Works great in an apartment setting or where ever space is at a premium.

Well, these are my top picks of manual affordable treadmills. You should be able to find these online priced between $100 to $200.

You really can't run on the ones mentioned here. But they are good for folks like seniors and such that need to walk but can't always get outside for one reason or another.

What kind of speeds can you get up to on these treadmills? I've never used one although it would be pointless if you can't actually run on them.
