Choosing a healthy Lifestyle

Healthy lifestyles are becoming more and more popular these days. It is becoming common knowledge that if we incorporate healthy habits into our lifestyle we will decrease our chances of developing chronic illnesses. Exercising, eating right, and illuminating stress lead to an overall sense of health and wellness. Inevitably leading a healthy lifestyle comes down to making the right choices that create changes that support lasting good health and wellness.

The first choice we need to make is deciding to make a lifestyle change. Deciding to make a lifestyle change creates a responsibility to ourselves to commit mindfully to the goal to obtaining and sustaining a state of health and wellness. This critical first choice is the turning point away from an unhealthy lifestyle towards a healthy lifestyle. After making the choice to lead a healthy lifestyle we feel happy about ourselves and a new sense of pride and optimism prevails.

We need to have patience, taking one step at a time and to be gentle with ourselves. We need to be flexible to overcome inevitable setbacks that will arise and not to let those setbacks discourage us. With determination we can persevere and overcome the obstacles.

Otherwise, we need to stay focused on what ever motivates us; I want to avoid that triple bi-pass… I am looking forward to being active with my grandchildren and great grandchildren. We need to stay inspired and enthusiastic because turning back is no option

Finally, it is time to say good-bye to our old lifestyle and who we were. Now is the time to say hello to our new healthy lifestyle and who we are now. We already feel better don’t we?
