Clothes to Wear During Pregnancy

I've been a bit out of the blog spector, as I just found out that I am pregnant! I am almost 3 months, and quickly beginning to show. I am small framed, and I do believe this is why I am bulging already (or twins?). However, as the trendy 23 year old I am, I absolutely refuse to buy frumpy maternity clothing. The only cute stuff I have found so far is way out of my price range. So, I have improvised on things to wear while I begin to gain weight around my middle. This is my list of normal clothes, which also dupe as great pregnancy apparel.

Let leggings become your best friend

I was the queen of skinny jeans and jeggings. Well, as my uterus has grown to the size of a grape fruit this just isn't going to work anymore. One day as I was upset about the fact that my jeans were uncomfortable, I put on a pair of leggings. BEST IDEA OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. No more uncomfortableness from bloating, leggings are absolutely wonderful. However, its important to get them in a size larger then you're used to wearing!

Layering Style Camis, and Tank tops.

I say layering style because these typically come in a long length which helps once you're really showing. Comfort is key. and it is all I seem to care about now a days. Forget being sexy, I'd rather wear sweat pants. Camis are absolutely wonderful. There are many reasons to this, but being hot 24/7 does play a part in the reason as to why I choose to wear them. I own about 5 different black camis at this point, because they actually let me feel thin on occasion. Great stretchy fabric for your growing belly.

Flowing Summer Dresses

Its a bit cold in Tennessee right now (not too cold, but the 60's). I've only had the opportunity to wear these a couple times, but I know I'll live in them this summer. They're non-restricting, and light weight airy fabric. The worse thing in the world is to feel as though you're binding your stomach, so sun dresses are amazing for pregnancy.

70's style tunic type shirts

Anything baggy is great. Especially when you have a small belly forming, and you don't want the world to think you've had a few too many cheese burgers. I've started buying shirts in large and enjoying the comfort. I am typically a small, so buying a large can be a bit depressing on occasion. However, I feel much better about the purchase when I see myself without what appears to be a gut.

Yoga pants are not only for yoga

Another article of clothing I live in, is yoga pants. I don't know who put them on the market, but I'd love to shake their hand and tell them thank you. I'll wear them with a regular shirt and boots so they appear more like leggings if we're going out. Or, I'll just wear them around the house. I probably own 7 pairs of yoga pants, and I wear them almost every day. Yoga pants are wonderful for pregnancy.

I hope my different ideas on regular clothes to wear during pregnancy help someone out. I felt as though I had to get really creative with things to wear. However, it works. When you're growing a little life form inside of you feeling "hot" or "sexy" just doesn't seem to matter like it once did. Enjoy your belly comfortably, no matter how big or small it may be!
