Could the Alleged Young Living Lead be from Bentonite Clay?

Is Bentonite Clay the Source of their Lead?
Maybe? Maybe not? What are the facts?
Question: "They are claiming that lead from bentonite clay does not get absorbed. Is that true?"
Answer: They are not really trying to prove a point with a claim like that so much as disorient you. Spin masters talk in circles to make you dizzy, let me help keep you straight. First, this is not the Plantiff's nor their lawfirm's first rodeo with lead or even lead in bentonite clay.
Lozeau Drury LLP has filed lawsuits on behalf of the Environmental Research Center for bentonite clay in the past that successfully resulted in enforcing settlements based on, among other determinants, the amount and source of the "excess exposure" of lead in bentonite clay past the .5mg/day limit. "Excess" meaning anything beyond what is legitimately considered to factor in. So the consideration for amounts, and excess amounts, is present.
That point is documented as a recorded judgement on this page - it's not where I got my information but it can take you to where I did. I'm not passing out free research today.
Why did the First Article Get Pulled?
The word started to spread that it must have been untrue. It must have been slander. Pictures posted below refer to misinformation, propaganda, and attacks. But nobody asked me, the only one who'd know - except HubPages themselves. So I'm posting it here for them, and for all, to read.
I don't know if they'd offer this kind of information, but you are welcome to contact them to try to verify if you'd like, though understand I DO link all my sources in the article itself for your own personal review. I relist them at the bottom under the section called, appropriately enough, "Sources". They are mostly raw data documents with a few references but I'll let you make the quality call. There is no need to seek the judgement calls on this, or any, of my articles. I show you my sources so you can see, and decide, for yourself.
In the 4 hours our article was live on HP it reached over 5,000 views. I'm unsure of the total count from both places it's been published, but the FB post that announced it has over 27,000: https://www.facebook.com/EssentialInfoConsumerAdvocacy (my post, my page).
Why it was pulled: the links I had placed to the Young Living products to show you what they are and that they are still available for sale (except one that's been listed "out of stock" for some time) tripped an "overly promotional content" alert by my publishing platform (HP) who thought I might be trying to sell the stuff, which, as multi-level marketing products, they don't allow ... even though I had marked them as unaffiliate, no-follow links and they passed for initial publication no problem. I'm not done looking into exactly what happened there yet.
However WHEN it was pulled, I had two choices:
1. wait 3 days for their review time to expire and force the decision to publish again, or
2. pull the info and put it back up immediately on our website which is not monetized effectively at all because I haven't had the time to learn how to do that yet in a way that won't disrupt our info, bother our audience, and keeps our info free to all.
That decision to get it back up immediately cost me whatever I would have cleared in ad revenue from our viral HP launch, which is my primary and only consistent source of funding for my work on exposing misleading sales tactics in the essential oil industry, and it earned a whopping 60 cents in its place instead.
Needless to say I'm heavyhearted and a little stunned. But you know what? If a pregnant woman thinks to lay off the supplements awhile a few days sooner than she would have otherwise known to, until she's sure they're safe enough to incorporate into her diet, then that right there - promoting actual well-being, no money required - trumps all.
People over profits, everytime. Even mine.

Why it Really Doesn't Matter
Now, regardless of who wants to say what about bentonite clay, a couple things are immediately clear. First, the Prop 65 limit for lead exposure is .5mg/day from any product and any exposure route. That is why you see Prop 65 signs on building and the like - you don't absorb buildings, but you are exposed to what they are made of simply by being in their proximity.
In regards to the Young Living products in question, you eat them. If their products are found to carry that, no matter what constituent in them contains it, anything over that .5mg/day limit is going to require labels and fines.
and Why it Really Shouldn't Matter ... at Least Not Yet
Of course lead exposure is of particular concern to individuals such as children and pregnant women. Lower levels than the .5 mg/day limit can cause toxicity to both unborn and born children, and since the Prop 65 warning label is meant to inform consumers of the amount they are being exposed to it is probably a good idea to let people, especially like these, know so they can account for their total daily exposure.
But the claim being posed by Young Living brings another fact into focus as well.
You see, there is no mention of bentonite clay in any of the submitted court documents filed by the ERC. There is no mention of ANY constituent that is allegedly causing these products to test for lead - just the idea that potentially, they are.
To begin explaining the source of lead in your products is to display your current knowledge about your products and their lead-containing constituents.
This means you knew there was lead in your products. That alone is doubly damning: there is lead in your products, and you knew it...
... and you sold it. You sold it and you let your uninsured independent sales representatives sell it to consumers, including children and pregnant women, outside and inside of the State of California.
You put people in harm's way. You jeopardized the health of men, women, children, and the unborn who may have needed to account for the amount of lead they were swallowing from your products. You jeopardized the livelihood of your sales reps when you let them sell without product liability insurance, or even cluing them in that they should look into getting some because, as an independent contractor, if there is an adverse reaction to a product they sold, they are held accountable and risk losing everything they own - their items, their paychecks, their property, their homes. Sales reps sell the products they've bought and so rightfully own to someone else. It is their own separate business. How's that wholesale discount looking now?
And, in failing to tell people about the lead in your products while allowing them to believe in a promise of absolute safety and wholesome purity, you lied.
Add to that the structure of Proposition 65 legislation that allows for a company to UNknowingly expose consumers to toxic products and potentially make good for it on better terms and you have what seems to be an unmistakable admission of guilt that you knowingly exposed consumers to products with toxic constituents in the State of California without giving them clear and reasonable warning, a violation of Proposition 65.
The trial hasn't even started yet. You didn't have to admit anything.

They are taught not to see what the diamonds know. They'll never see they're being tricked, they'll never agree to go.

And pitch your price like a pizza, right? Hot and fresh. Make that dough.

If you have a loved one working for this company, your concern for them is justified. They're about to go to court, the reps are personally responsible for the products they've sold, constituents they didn't know about, and any adverse reactions they may have caused. The reps will always want to stay "us"... it's not their fault, and it's not a matter of intelligence.
Get your family and friends out now. They won't want to go. Make them go.
