Worry and Guilt

Anxiety is a Party Crasher. When stress, guilt and Worry are having a get together Anxiety is sure to always be there.
Anxiety can be the smallest niggling in the back of your mind. Or, it can be full blown, feeling like a heart attack, or complete shut-down.
Anxiety and stress make your "Fight or Flight" chemicals operate on overdrive, and when no action is precipitated by the Rush of Anxiety, fear or worry, the hormones and chemicals do a nose-dive and play funny tricks on our minds and bodies.
More research is finding that by taking deep and steady breaths, and not small shallow breathing, we clear our minds, lungs, boost the heart, and are able to deal better with our bodies reaction to whatever "stressors", worries or guilt are driving us mad.
Breathing Deep, from the Diaphragm has many benefits. Just think, when we are worried, or scared, if we aren't careful, we can find we haven't even Breathed for minutes at a time, over the course of hours, days or weeks. This is shutting down oxygen to the brain, and keeps us from making aggressive and necessary responses to those things.

Any thought can drive a person insane . It isn't the things we experience and face, it is what WE THINK ABOUT our experience and 'things'.
Byron Katie shared this in her book, "Loving What Is" The wind always blows, but it is our thinking about the howl of the wind, by focusing on that thing we can allow our thinking about it to drive us Insane. It taught me some valuable things, there are ideas in this book, I don't agree with, but it is a good and inspirational read.

Don't Worry, Be Happy
I have learned the hard way that when we keep secrets , it isn't always a good thing. Many will attest that they have lived half of their lives, believing a certain thing was wrong with them, and after years of work and therapy, they find it is not insane , or an isolated event , that many others are thinking the same thoughts.
As I worked on these lists, I really started laughing. By the time I got to the end, It is almost impossible to not Laugh. I think this is like an anti-worry venom . I believe we can trick ourselves into better living, and we can make 'shifts or rifts" in time and space that will have one of our worst worries crumble in just a few words.
The one I love is, "My boss hates me!"
Me: "Well, they are mean, and make life harder than it should be.
Me: "I need this job!"
The answer is we often really choose to be in situations for a bunch of "stinking thinking" and reasons that don't really make smart or healthy sense.
- Is another person's well being, safety, sanity more important than yours? (Children of course need protection from adults)
- If you get a lot of pleasure from helping others and buying gifts for someone else, why can't you do the same for yourself?
- Being in a situation that makes you physically or mentally ill has no sane reason for being there. You do not deserve anything substandard.
- No one is Better than you! No one is closer to Your Higher Power than You!
- Really, we can choose happiness, not matter our outer circumstances.
I know these lists are manic, manic, mad, but hopefully - Somehow, it will bring you some Joy and recovery - Peace and The Best!
Last Year - The Four Agreements
It is only later in my life that I learned about The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, it sure has saved me from negative thinking, and bad self-talk.
Since I learned The Four Agreements, I found that I used dishonest self-talk against myself and it produced a negativity in me. Many people worry, but there are more productive ways to use our intelligence.
