The beauty of dance workouts is that you can do it in the comfort of your own home, and it’s also super fun to get your friends to join it (I even convinced my boyfriend once! ).
You probably all heard about Zumba, it has been booming over the past couple of years. The workout is awesome, a beautiful mixture of Latin and international dancing. If you already go to a gym, most likely they will have Zumba classes.
Try out a class, you will love it! I do not exaggerate when I say I was thrilled with excitement after my first Zumba class. If you are lucky, and you have an awesome instructor, bubbly and funny, then you will have a blast.
Zumba is probably one of the most entertaining dance workouts I've ever tried.
However, you can also do Zumba at home. I was so excited about it that I bought the breand new DVD from Amazon.
The Zumba DVD packages are the same as on the official websites, but a little bit cheaper. However if you don’t mind the used versions, you can also get them on Amazon or eBay for much cheaper.

Belly dancing is fun, creative and hard work! Apart from its oriental touch of amazing dancing skills and sensual movements, belly dancing is also one of the best dance workouts to lose weight with.
Try to belly dance for one hour and not only will you burn over 300 calories, but you will break a sweat and ache in the morning!
Once again, you can join a class or do it from the comfort of your own home.
There are many Belly Dance DVDs for sale on internet; Amazon and eBay have a wide range, with great deals on.
However, just as with the Zumba workouts, you can get some find some great free videos on Youtube.
Just type in belly dance, belly dance workout or learn how to belly dance and you will find plenty of videos in there.
Belly dancing is an art, something you can learn and enjoy. Get a hip scarf, and workout in front of the mirror.
Not only will it bring atmosphere to the routine but also it will make you feel beautiful and feminine.
If you wish to, you can put on a show for your partner! What a great way to lose weight, and what an amazing motivator!

If you can join a salsa class, it will be enjoyable and it will give you an intense cardio workout. Take your friend or your partner with you and keep up the motivation.
Usually the classes run twice a week ,and you will start from beginner level working your way up to advanced. There’s a lot of leg and hip movement, twists and turns. Salsa can be your super fun dance workout and a great way to learn something new! Maybe a new year resolution?
However, just as with everything now a day, you can learn it at home. Buy a step by step Salsa DVD (or whatever your level is) or find some good videos on Youtube. If you can get a dance partner, that’s a bonus but not a necessity. You can simply learn the steps and perform the routines by yourself. It will be entertaining and a great workout.
Zumba also includes plenty of salsa moves and provides a great platform for beginners to start learning Latin dance moves.
Flamenco is a beautiful Spanish dance, with a lot of passion and attitude. If you ever been to Spain, especially in Andalucía, you must have seen a group of dancers performing Flamenco.
Not only are their costumes beautiful, with the ladies wearing those wavy red dresses, but also their stance and movements are confident and elegant. You watch them dance and you want to clap your hands, tap your feet, and join in.
However, flamenco is also one of the best dance workouts due to its high intensity and stop and go movements.
The dance is based on great core strength, muscle workout, and concentration. After my first flamenco class my legs were aching for ages, and we all know that in ‘losing weight terms’ that’s a great thing.
Depending were you live, joining a flamenco class may not be the easiest thing ever. However, it is certainly easy to buy Flamenco DVDs online or to find Youtube videos.
