Deepak Chopra's 21 day Meditation Challenge - Creating Abundance - Who's with me?

My dearest HubPage friends, if you have been following me, you know that I am a big fan and proponent for all things spiritual. I encourage anyone to look at their life from a spiritual perspective and discover a whole new set of possibilities of who you are and how you can live your life. One tool to assist on your journey to discover a deeper self and an infinite Universe is meditation. Besides meditation being a wonderful portal to individual and spiritual insight, meditation has a long laundry list of health and wellness benefits. Besides meditation being one of my favorite things to do and experience, I have a couple other things I love too (well I actually have millions of things I love). Abundance and Deepak Chopra! I have been studying with them both for many years now, so when you put them together with meditation, I’m in! Last week, Deepak announced that he would be starting a 21 day mediation challenge that he would be facilitating. The focus on this meditation series is Creating Abundance. Guess who signed up?

This week is the start of the second week of the challenge, so I thought I would share my experience so far and encourage anyone else that is up for an exciting and beneficial challenge like this to join me. I already have a meditation practice, so the first couple days of the challenge, were for me, a challenge, because it meant that I had to change my routine a bit to accommodate this meditation series. The meditations are accessed via the internet and I normally don’t have my computer around while I’m meditation. So, I had to wait until I had some private time to get my meditations in every day, which caused me to be a little behind. But no worries, I have plenty of time to catch up (and so could you if you want to start too).

All 21 meditation sessions are free to listen to as often as you want for a limited time, but you cannot download the individual sessions without a cost. If you decide to join the challenge, take advantage of having them available for a couple weeks after their date of issuance. If you have a digital recorder, you could even tape the sessions off of your computer.

The meditations for this challenge are called guided meditations. Guided meditations are excellent for anyone, but particularly for beginning meditators because the guidance helps you to focus your attention into the meditations by using a meditation moderator, which in this case is Deepak Chopra. And just as a side benefit, the 21 Day Mediation Challenge website has several other resources available for additional learning and inspiration.

So, I’m on day 4 (like I said I’m a few days behind), and so far I AM LOVING IT! First of all, Deepak has such a deeply soothing and tranquil voice. The sessions are spaced nicely with a few beginning inspirational messages and then a set up for the focus of that day’s meditation, and finally a time for individual quiet meditation. Each session is about 15 minutes long. I would wish for more, but this is a great start.

The meditations are uplifting and inspiring. Since the series focus is on Creating Abundance, I am approaching my meditation as an open vessel to receive inspiration, insight, and intuition on the topic of abundance. Besides getting the residual benefits of any meditation practice, which is an expansive sense of peace and relaxation, I am also becoming very inspired with my abundant mindset, and I am learning some new mantras (which are phrases that help you stay centered in meditation). Overall, I can’t speak highly enough about this challenge. What a wonderful way to start or proceed on a meditation practice. So, who’s in with me?       Well I guess I am too late for this challenge. I try to meditate daily, but sometimes get off track and miss days or even a week, then I realize something is missing. I enjoyed this hub and will check out more of your hubs when time allows. I like the subjects you write about.

      I have also signed up for this challenge. I have a little experience with meditation, but have never had enough self discipline to do it everyday, so I decided to sign up! Alas, it is still a challenge to "find" the time to do it everyday, especially with traveling and other distractions. Like you, I am behind, but it doesn't really seem to matter. Each time I do it, I feel more at peace with myself and the world, and more encouraged about life. To me, that's a success! I plan to stick it out, even if I don't get to it everyday. It's been a great experience so far! I even started a blog in which I talk about my experiences with it, as well as other spiritual things. I look forward to seeing your thoughts on the subject.
