Dentists I Dread

Updated on April 1, 2010

Don't Look Now He Is Coming

I hope my dentist doesn't read this

My bill will double and I will be in lots of trouble

I come regularly every 6 months like clock work

Unavoidable  and I can not escape no matter how hard I try

I can move but it is never far enough away from the dentist who I fear

He says he is my friend but with all that drilling

How could he be ?

I think he is a masked villian who has me under his clenches

I am his victim and I do not let him see me cry

For he sees the pain in my eyes

I grab hold of the arms of the chair and squeeze tight

I think of happy thoughts

That didn't work just do what you do

And I know it is going to HURT!

Why I come is beyond me

I must like pain and suffering

Not true I want to leave soon

I remember as a kid they bribed you with a metal ring

I fell for that trick but not this time I am smarter now

I have learned how to take it on the chin

Yes I want to have a nice smile and grin at wonderful things

But how can I?

When you hold my mouth open for days at a time

As you go get coffee or do laundry and read the paper

I close my eyes then open them to see

The master criminal who is hidden from sight

Is he going to pull a tooth that I have had my whole life

Oh thank god he's not

Oh great he is going for the drill

My stomach is twisted in knots

I hope I don't throw up

I will be tortured for longer than I can stand

When will he be done

Hasn't he had enough fun

I want to get up and run

But I know the friendly receptionist will catch me for sure

Then I have to start the whole process all over again

When I least expect it

The drilling has stopped

What happened to those other people

Who came and went

Why were they allowed to leave?

What happens if I sneeze while he drills?

I will have the biggest mal practice suit

Who am I kidding

Next time I will have to be put under

A fate worse than death

Please just give me the bill

I want a cheap metal ring

I deserve it for all my sweat and tears

Move over little girl its my turn now

I want that one

It is my trophy for beating the villian once again

SURE HE MADE ME YELL ONE TIME TOO MANY

But he still didn't get all my teeth

I think I just have too many

LOL, how wonderful to meet another who is in such fear. I think most of us feel this way. Oh, my friend, tell them to put you to sleep, ha! Then they charge you triple...great hub, and I needed some humor today, thanks...

They're all secret sadists. Thanks for making me smile.
