Detoxing your kidneys for better health

Updated on July 16, 2012

It’s amazing how many simple and inexpensive remedies there are out there for keeping our bodies healthy and operating correctly. That old adage that, prevention is worth a pound of cure could not ring more true than it does today! When it comes to prevention we seem to look at the small things in life but we tend to miss the large picture all together.

For example, we have no problems with minimizing the possibility of catching the common cold by repeatedly washing our hands in order to kill potential bacteria, but don’t even give it a second thought about putting our mouths around a glass at a restaurant or touching bacteria filled grocery cart handles.

As with anything in life it is always easier to prevent the problem and in turn save yourself a great deal of pain, time and money. When it comes to my health, count me in for any preventative measures that are easy, safe, painless and inexpensive to try.

Keeping my kidneys happy and healthy is one of those preventative measures that I do not take lightly! If you have ever suffered from a kidney stone you know exactly what I’m talking about when I say that it feels like you’ve been kicked in the back by a horse. If you’re a Diabetic you understand how important it is to look after and care for your kidneys. If you have a bad tendency to consume a large amount of soda, caring for your kidneys is a must!

Your kidneys work hard every day in order to filter your blood by removing toxins, salt, and other unwanted substance out of your body. For years your kidneys have been accumulating toxic chemicals such as food additives, pesticides, fertilizer, drugs and more.

So what is the best prevention for keeping your kidneys happy and functioning properly? Parsley! This inexpensive, little miracle plant is a marvelous way to keep everything running smoothly. Parsley has two important components that your kidneys will absolutely love! Myristicin and luteolin are the best antioxidants that money can buy. They increase the antioxidant level in the blood, and are said to cure all sorts of other ills. So try showing your kidneys some love this week. What have you got to lose besides a ton of unwanted chemicals!

Recipe for cleanse:

1. Cut a bunch of parsley into smaller pieces.

2. Boil parsley in a pot of water for 10 minutes.

3. Take it off the stove and let it cool for 15 min.

4. Strain the parsley out, and pour the filtered parsley water into bottles or container to store in fridge.

5. Drink one glass daily for three days.

NOTE: This cleanse can be done every three months. It is perfectly normal to notice the salts and other accumulated poison coming out of your kidneys during urination.Feelings of well-being are also very common!. ENJOY!!!

mizjo, from what I understand it is only the regular parsley and/or celery stocks that you can use to make the tea. I would assume that eating it has to have wonderful benefits! I know that it is also great for juicing with it.

tobusiness, it's very refreshing because your also able to drink it cold, perhaps add a mint leaf or two? To me, cleaning and keeping my kidneys healthy for under 99cents is priceless!!

What a great idea!! I use to sprinkle parsley on my dog's food and of course I use it in cooking. However, this sounds like a refreshingly healthy drink, can't wait to try it.

      Thank you for sharing.

Maddambutterfly, parsley is so easy to take, sprinkled over just about anything. Does this method of using it give the same benefit if I use plenty of it?

Also, can you count cilantro, as that is my favorite parsley?
