Prevent Cancer With Metformin!
Metformin for Cancer as Well as Diabetes
Metformin, a cheap diabetes drug that's taken by millions of people who have Type II Diabetes, has now been found to have some amazing properties when it comes to cancer.
Two studies have come to light. One is a Chinese study, which followed 2500+ diabetics (who did not have cancer) for five years. At the end of the study, nearly five percent had contracted the disease. Doctors estimated that the participants who didn't take the drug were two to three times more likely to develop the disease.
It was also found that the higher the dose of metformin, the less likely the chance of developing the disease. They also discovered that those with the lowest levels of HDL cholesterol (the good kind), benefited the most from metformin.
The studies were published in the journal Diabetes Care.
More About Metformin...
The good news is that Metformin (its brand name is Glucophage) is a generic drug and costs only about $10 per month.
Doctors realize that these findings are preliminary but are hoping that the drug will help prevent cancers in high-risk subjects like those who smoke. But why not for all of us?
Based on these findings, doctors all over the globe are going to be studying this drug further, and they're going to be doing it quickly.
This is great news!
