I saw this video on Facebook and it really resonated with me. A Google Executive, Mo Gawdat, says he has the secret to happiness. A discovery he says was tested when his young son died suddenly. Maybe you have already seen the video too. I think it is really something to ponder on especially if you are dealing with a traumatic event. It really seems to make sense and it gives you a starting point if you have no idea where to begin. Watch the video (An Algorithm for Happiness) below to see if it helps move you at all. It sure made sense to me about how you have to just accept what you are given in life sometimes and just try to make things better, and just take it day by day.

We label suffering as pain. Then, we keep re-living the suffering or pain by bringing it back into memory, that moment, when we suffered from a change in our life, whatever that may be. Life is now in this moment. Past memories or thoughts only have as much power as we give them. Your pain is the past memory. Don't let the past experience ruin your present life now. Try to be happy from within. Find that inner peace that you have inside. Don't make yourself keep suffering. Life is now. Keep in the present moment of your happiness from within. Don't keep suffering. Let it go.
Positive Thinking, Feel Happier Again
This is how the method and techniques can help you too. The method gives you a starting point and somewhere to start to begin a new life after something traumatic has happened just like what is mentioned in the video above. It helps you accept what life has given you at this point. By letting go or releasing of your negative feelings, emotions, or thoughts, you can start in a more positive light. You will start to feel lighter, happier, and enjoy life more as you release the negative emotions, feelings, or thoughts. Wouldn't it be nice to just have a moment of happiness?
That is what these techniques can give you. The more you practice and the more you let go, things should become easier for you. Your suffering should lessen over time. We all deserve to be happy and by releasing on both the positive and negative emotions, you can achieve the peace, calm and freedom that you desire. You just have to put a little work into it to get the full benefit of this method. Trust me, it is worth it. It is helping me now with two injured ankles by practicing these methods. It can be so comforting and relaxing just by using the tools of releasing from this method.
Have Peace With the Past

Do you feel like it is you against the world like I sometimes feel? These techniques can help you and they are based on what comes naturally. Emotions are not facts and you can let them go. You do not need to hold onto them. We seem to constantly resist what the world gives us. We expect more and have more beliefs as we get older. You can unlearn these things by letting go or releasing the emotions.
Normally, we try to trick ourselves, maybe lie to ourselves, or just say we have no other choice and then we release our negative emotions automatically spontaneously. Learning these techniques can be an easier and natural way to let go of negative things. By simply answering simple questions, you can become more free.
Negative Thoughts, Letting Go or Releasing
We all seem to struggle at some point in our life with a traumatic event such as a divorce, losing a loved one, friend, or pet, or moving to a new location, etc. These techniques can help bring you back to life after you suffer from some traumatic event.
We sometimes find ourselves struggling with the emotion of apathy which results in feeling like you can't win, depressed, doomed, overwhelmed, or powerless, etc. We may be thinking: I can't win. I give up. I'm doomed. Why bother? This may make us feel defeated, lazy, stuck, or unfocused, etc. Other times, we may be struggling with the emotion of grief which results in us feeling abandoned, cheated, heartbroken, or helpless, etc. We may be thinking: It's not fair. I'll never recover or why me? We may be crying, complaining, moping, or self-conscious, etc.
You may be able to release or let go of all of this by using the method. It might not happen instantly, but over time, you will start feeling better. You need to keep practicing the method or over time, you may forget how to use it. That happened to me and I had to go back and get the wording of the release questions again in order to start practicing it again deeper. After doing it awhile, you can even shorten the questions to one question or one comment such as just, let it go, which I am able to use sometimes to release.
Time Heals Wounds, Be Calm
Letting Go or Releasing on Likes and Dislikes
This one is another one that people like to do on paper. However, I'm just going to go over it briefly first without talking about writing it down. Just allow yourself to think of a topic that you would like to work on. This could be a person, place, or thing. What is something you like about that person, place, or thing? Just allow that feeling to be there fully. See if this comes from wanting approval, control, or security? Then, simply start asking the release questions. Could you let that want go? Then, think about your person, place, or thing again. What is something you dislike about your topic? Again, just allow yourself to feel whatever you are feeling again. Ask yourself, could you allow that feeling to be there? Does it come from wanting approval, control, or security? Could you let it go? Then, you just keep repeating the steps between likes and dislikes, releasing your now feelings and wants. It is important to release on good feelings so you can get clarity and deepen the goodness that is there.
You need to do about nine rounds of releasing. Then, see how differently you feel. Each pair of likes and dislikes are holing you back on your topic. The book goes into greater detail on all of this.
The worksheet is very simple. You just write Likes/Dislikes Process at the top of a sheet of paper with a topic of: What do I (like/dislike) about whatever your topic is. Then, you would have two columns. The first column would say Likes and your second column would say Dislikes.

Have you recently suffered from a traumatic event?
Hope this article has given you further information on how this method could give you some relief if you are struggling. You should be able to get at least a little relief by practicing the techniques. At the very least, the techniques should be able to give you a glimmer of hope and some peace. The techniques sure helped me.
