Few Words About Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese procedure of natural healing that is famed for the wide range of things it can achieve. Retaining, increasing or introducing fertility is one of such. Acupuncture and fertility are related in that fertility is largely dictated by hormonal balance of one's body, state of health and how relaxed the body is. Apparently, acupuncture is known to accurately control these factors hence giving it a claim on fertility.

Acupuncture believes that in every living creatures in this world carries an universal life force that flows throughout the body uninterpreted when that creature is completely healthy. Imbalance of this vital force , caled Chi or Qi, is the root cause of different aliments. This energy circulate through out the body by a specific path called "Meridians". Any obstruction of the energy flow in Meridian causing disease and removal of the obstruction cures disease. This is the basic of acupuncture.

Acupuncture stimulates some specific points in this Meridian and empties the blockages that restore the free flow of Chi and cures the disease

Accunucture Procedure

Acupuncture is just inserting some fine needles in specific points on body surface that stimulates Meridian that open the blockage keeps vital life force to move freely. Sometime electrical stimulus is needed to pass through the needles for better result. Another method is "Moxibustion", where acupuncture is carried out in heat generated by burning of some specific herbs.

Acupuncture and Fertility

One of the most common ways in which acupuncture will work in the quest to improve fertility is its ability to improve ovarian and follicular function. In addition to this, it can increase the blood flow to the endometrial walls facilitating a thick rich lining. All this will play a great role in increasing the probability of successful implantation.

However, it should be known that the relationship between acupuncture and fertility is not a miraculous one. This therefore dictates that for it to work, it should be started as early as it is necessary just like any other medical procedures. Generally, patients will be treated for three to four months before fertilization is attempted.

In addition to these, the patient should be ready for more than just being pricked with ultra thin sterile pins. For the treatment to work successfully it is commonly administered in conjunction with several herbal or conventional medicine doses. Diligent adherence to prescriptions should therefore be exercised to avoid frustrations.

It should also be noted that acupuncture and fertility do not part ways once the patient has been fertilized. There are also more procedures to be followed at least until successful implantation has occurred. This is because typical miscarriages occur before and during implantation. This calls for the need of the treatment period to extent from one to twelve weeks after implantation or as the practitioner sees it necessary.

Just like any other treatment procedures, acupuncture has some side effects, though minimal. For instance, the risk of miscarriage might increase if the pins are targeted to the wrong points of the body. This is one main reason why choosing an acupuncturist should be done with great care. Go for those who are known experts in the field of fertility rather than just general purpose acupuncturists.

The best thing about acupuncture and fertility is that the procedure can be used to cure fertility problems caused by a wide range of complications. This should however not be mistakenly be taken to mean that the procedure can cure every problem. A blocked ovarian tube is for instance one complication that is out of reach.

No matter how ambitious you are to cure you problem, just know that acupuncture and fertility is still a unknown terms in some countries. It will be much safer if you travel to countries where it is certified since you will get more professional care there.
