Does the Insanity Workout DVD Really Work?

Updated on August 4, 2017

Insanity

Insanity is the popular workout DVD series that was put together by world famous trainer and exercise guru Shaun T. I have not personally used this workout series but a friend of mine has. She lost 14 pounds in three weeks on this program. I am about to embark on my very own Insanity workout regime to lose some of this baby weight.

The workout series is supposed to completely change your body shape and your attitude towards exercise in 60 days. This workout program is not easy at all. In fact, from what I have seen with my friend it is a killer workout regime. You must have discipline and focus to stick to this; however once you see results, you will not want to stop. To answer the question does Insanity work. From what I have seen, I am going to say yes.

The DVD workout program comes with 10 discs. You also get a nutrition plan, and a calendar to chart your progress. The calendar is a good thing because it provides you with a visual reminder of how far you have come on a daily basis. The first thing that you will do when you turn on your DVD is go through a fitness test. Shaun T puts you through a test to see how fit you are and judge how much work needs doing before you get down to the real workout. One great thing about the Insanity program is that it actually gets you working muscles that you might not have even worked before. It is actually, like having a personal trainer in your front room with you at all times telling you what to do.

You will be put through extreme strength training and resistance training. Intense cardio to help you burn fat fast and efficiently. I have watched my friend go down two dress sizes in three weeks and she is still losing weight and becoming more toned. I read a series of reviews recently and found a couple of people who have even lost more than 14 pounds in three weeks. I personally think this is probably one of the best workout DVD series out there. I tried the fitness test and it really did put you through your paces. The fitness test basically shows you how hard you are going to be working for the rest of the program.

How do you get in shape with the Insanity workout?

The Insanity workout pushes your body into submission. Shaun T works your body harder than you would have ever worked it before. The program uses plyometric and isometric exercise to tone you up and burn fat effectively. Sometimes I read testimonials from people who say they have lost this amount of weight in this amount of time from a certain program. I never really believe those testimonials, when I read the Insanity ones I believe they are true because I have seen it with my own eyes. I have seen my friend shrink before my very eyes with this program.

The workout is very hard, let us not hide that fact. It is not easy at all, but think of it like this. Nothing good in life ever comes easy, therefore if you want the body of your dreams you are going to have to work hard for it. You are going to have to push yourself to the ultimate limit.  Shaun T will be your personal coach throughout the whole process, and you will no doubt lose weight and tone up with the Insanity workout.

The Insanity workout series is perfect for losing baby weight, if you have struggled with weight issues all your life, this is the perfect thing for you. For anyone who wants to lose weight and get in shape this is the DVD series to purchase.

So where can you purchase the Insanity workout program?

The Insanity program can be purchased from most DVD stores and online from the website. However, the cheapest place I have seen it is on Amazon. On Amazon, they are selling it for $144.80 and it is usually $169.99. It also comes with free shipping. Looking at the price tag, it might look expensive but this is how I see it. You can pay $144 for a workout regime that you can keep forever; you will have a personal trainer on your doorstep at all times. You can throw away your gym membership and workout from the comfort of your own home.

I have been doing this program off and on! It does work, it is hard but the key is just sticking to it and believing in yourself. If you believe in yourself with anything you can make it happen. Shaun T really does help to keep you motivated as well though so I will continue to work out with this program!

I have been on the program for 4 weeks now. All I can say is that I love it. I played sports and worked out while I was high school. But 10 years later I let myself go. I was in Law Enforcement and got somewhat back into shape. Now doing this is not easy. The first day I did it I was like why did I spend my money on this. I can't handle these workouts. But let me tell you. Dig deep and you sure can. I have lost about 9-10 pounds so far. I am beginning to see changes in my legs and arms. I just want to finish to see my after picture. Just buy it and do it. You have to want it though. If your not ready to eat a little healthier and get home and press play then this is not for you. Oh and also I haven't been so strict with the diet and I am still seeing great results. So that should tell you it WORKS!

This was very insightful. When I saw your title it drew me in because my sister is actually doing it and HAS lost the weight and looks amazing. I recently saw pictures of her yesterday and blew my mind away. I really think I am gonna try this out thanks for the read and info.

      smiles :)

Intrigue- Thank you for this post! I am not sure I am in a position yet health wise to go for the insanity workout, but I had seen the commercials and don't know anyone who has tried it. I am not only overweight, but have diabetes which has caused me the loss of a leg and partial eye sight. I do now eat corretly and exercise under a trainer's care. I hope in the not too far off future to get these cd's and do this workout. -Paul
