BEAT UP? BROKEN? BRUISED? DON'T QUIT!
DON'T QUIT!!
Have you been beat up by the market?
Are you suffering from anxiety attacks?
Grieving the loss of something in your life?
We all have been affected in some way by the world's financial woes and problems.
Recently, I came across a poem that says it best. It's by James Allen.
I think it came from his book, "Day by Day". It's called "Don't Quit"
"When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
when the road you're traveling seems uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
and you want to smile, but you have to sign.
When care is pressing you down a bit,
rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
as everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about
when he might have won, had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the path seems slow,
you may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than,
it seems to faint and faltering man.
Often the struggler has given up,
when he might have captured the victory cup.
And he learned too late when the night came down.
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out.
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are,
it may be near when it seems afar.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit.
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit."
by James Allen
I read this poem several years ago and wrote it down in my journal.
I have recently went through some trying times and have found
these words and others from James Allen's book were words
of encouragement to me. Another quote I wrote down from
his book "As a Man Thinketh" is " A person cannot directly choose his
circumstances, but he can choose his thoughts, and so indirectly, yet
surely, shape his circumstances." James Allen.
King Solomon, one of the wisest men said:
Proverbs 23:7
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:
The Apostle Paul said, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8: (Emphasis mine)
I have found that what I think on in a concentrated and focused way, I will LIVE!
So, if I want to live my life free from the torment of fear, I must focus and concentrate my thoughts on something that is full of life, light and love. For me that is the words of God found in the Bible.
Several years ago I created an audio to help encourage women. I've had many testimonies from women regarding how it has positively affected their lives. It's called "Woman of Value" and I have uploaded it to our website. If you'd like to listen to it, please visit http://vimeo.com/12014507
Whatever you are facing today....remember "DON'T QUIT - you can make it! :)
Until next time.
Blessings!
