Easy And Effective Home Remedies For Acne

Updated on November 22, 2010

Acne is a problem that is experienced by teenagers and at times even adults. It is actually considered a skin disease that practically everyone experiences at least once in his or her lifetime. Although this condition isn't a life threatening one, having large pimples can be embarrassing and can also leave scars. Here are a couple of home remedies for acne and blackheads that are simple and effective to help you treat this problem.

One of the home remedies for acne is to use honey masks.  This ingredient is normally found in a variety of skin care products as it not only soothes, but cleanses the skin as well.  Honey is affordable and doesn't irritate skin at all and in fact, it is known to leave skin soft and glowing.  With using honey, you are able to treat pimples as this has antimicrobial properties that fights infection and unclogs dirty pores, which are a cause for acne and blackheads.

Peppermint leaves are also another one of the home remedies for acne.  What you need to do is wash the peppermint leaves completely and crush them.  Apply the crushed leaves to the acne affected area and rub continuously until you feel improvement.  For this to be effective in eliminating pimples, it should be done everyday.

You may find it strange, but another effective remedy for this condition is oatmeal.  Simply mix cooked oatmeal with honey and apply this to the affected areas so that it will absorb the excess oil that blocks the pores.  Let the oatmeal cool first before applying it to any part of your body so that you don't burn yourself.  Again, for this to work, you will have to do it frequently.

Preparing a baking soda mask is also another way to treat acne. This ingredient helps eliminate excess oil and heals blemishes. Mix baking soda with a bit of water until you form a paste like mixture. Apply this onto the face for about 15 minutes and rinse with warm water. After rinsing, apply a moisturizer to ensure that your skin doesn't get dry. Repeat this ritual daily until pimples disappear.

If you are one of the many suffering from this condition, not to worry because there are a lot of easy and effective home remedies for acne that are available. Just follow these solutions to getting your skin back to the way you want it to be and you will be pimple free in no time. Remember, everyone experiences acne so you have nothing to be ashamed of.
