Easy, Three-Step Diet Plan: Weeks 8, 9 and 10. Up, Down and Back Again.
Hi! If you have been following my weight loss journey, then you know I am trying to lose 13.2 pounds. I am following an easy, three step plan:
1. Be aware about eating
2. Weigh in just once a week.
3. Exercise everyday.
I've been logging my journey with weekly entries, but the last few weeks have found me very busy with a full-time job and other obligations and I haven't had the time to write. And I'll be honest...I was very frustrated, too, with what I saw on the scale.
Over the last few weeks, my weight has gone up a few pounds, gone down a few pounds, and now settled in on, thankfully, a loss. Today, on a weigh-in day, I am down another .2 pounds!
For those of you keeping track, that means I have lost a total of 5 pounds! Yay! As I've said in every entry, this isn't a spectacular weight loss by any means--but it is a healthy average of .5 pounds a week and is in the range of permanent weight loss which is what I am really after.
Full disclosure here. I did slip up on exercising for a few days over the last few weeks. In order to fit exercise into my daily routine, I need to get up at 5:20 am. That is not easy to do some mornings. But the truth is, I realize that I have more energy and feel better when I do get up early and exercise! So today I ran a 5k on my treadmill and plan to get "back on track" with my exercise.
I also had some overeating "events", a habit I have had nearly all of my life. Some people turn to drugs or alcohol, I turn to food. But the good news is, these episodes are not as frequent or as lasting as they used to be.
I am not giving up on my goals to lose 8.2 more pounds and then maintain that weight. I could have bagged this whole idea, as I have done in the past, but I didn't! I am still going, still losing, and still dedicated to healthy weight loss. So here's to a five pound loss! And to the next 8.2! Who's with me??
