Coping with Stress

It’s easy to become overwhelmed when it seems as though all you do is pay bills and when work and family life is becoming even more difficult to manage. However, it is important for you to recognize that YOU have all the power when it comes to controlling your daily stressors.

Managing stress is all about taking charge! It’s time to take charge of YOUR lifestyle, YOUR emotions and YOUR thoughts.


It is crucial to identify what causes you stress. You can do so by keeping a stress diary to take note of your attitude, habits and excuses. Ask yourself “What caused me stress? How do I feel physically and emotionally? What was my response to the situation? What did I do to make myself feel better?

How do you define stress? Is it part of your work or home life? Is it part of your personality perhaps?

Do you blame your stressful feelings on others or events?

Do you see stress as being temporary? How you view stress is an integral part to overcoming it. It is only until you recognize and accept the responsibility for your role in the genesis of the stressful outcome and maintaining it, your stress levels would be uncontrollable.

It is common to not be able to identify all your stressors or even know how to cope with them.
