A product review of Energy First Pro Energy Powder.

I originally purchased this product hoping it would help me with my usual afternoon cravings and sluggishness. By 3:00 every day I would be craving something chocolate, giving in would then lead to the afternoon "sleepies" when I would practically be nodding off at my desk convinced that if I could just take a quick nap I would feel better.

I ended up ordering the Chocolate Decadence figuring I could kill two birds with one stone by getting the chocolate I craved and warding off the "sleepies" with the extra energy. I also decided I would try the Ultimate Vanilla thinking it would be easier to get my kids to drink it if it was a fruit 'smoothie'.

What makes ENERGYFIRST® ProEnergy® Protein Powder different from others on the market?

ENERGYFIRST® ProEnergy® Protein Powder is made with only 100% pure whey protein isolate and natural sweeteners and flavors. It is processed using cross-flow microfiltration, the most advanced processing technique available today. ENERGYFIRST® ProEnergy® Protein Powder is pharmaceutical-grade and has been used by physicians to improve immunity and muscle mass for patients with cancer and immune disorders.

It is recommended for diabetics because it is very low in carbohydrates (2-4 grams per serving) and uses only low-glycemic natural sweeteners, including stevia leaf extract, which has been proven to help control blood sugar. Our protein is completely undenatured and preserves all microfactions of the whey for a maximal immune system benefit. EnergyFirst whey protein comes from grass pasture fed cows that are not treated with rBGH, rBST, or any other hormones or antibiotics.

What Energy First Pro Energy Powder DOESN'T have.

I spent a lot of time researching protein drinks, wanting to find one that wasn't loaded with sugar and carbohydrates or chemicals like the one my husband uses and swears by. I wanted to get off the sugar roller coaster not get on a different one. My search led me to the Energy First website. What impressed me most were all the things Energy First Pro Energy Powder doesn't have in their shakes.

Energy First Powder contains NO:

  • Acesulfame-K
  • Artificial Colors
  • Artificial Flavors
  • Artificial Sweeteners
  • Aspartame
  • Casein
  • Cholesterol
  • Fructose
  • Gluten

Who can drink Energy First Pro Energy Shakes?

According to the Energy First website whey protein is ideal for:

  • Growing children and teenagers. Whey protein helps stabilize children’s blood sugar, increases production of feel-good brain chemicals that help increase mental clarity and focus. It also provides the protein essential for growing bodies, particularly brain development and lean muscle.
  • Pregnant or lactating women. Protein is essential for proper fetal and infant development, particularly brain development, and helps prevent gestational diabetes.
  • Adults. As you get older, your body becomes less efficient at absorbing protein. Whey protein is the most easily absorbed protein available. It can reverse the aging process and rebuild the immune system. It can ensure that you are rarely, if ever, sick, and that you will begin to look and feel years younger.
  • Busy people. The busier you are, the more energy you need. Whey protein helps increase mental and physical energy instantly.

How I knew Energy First Pro Energy was working.

When I was almost out of the Energy First Pro Energy Chocolate Decadence I finally made the time to order more. I decided to order a case of four in order to take advantage of the quantity discount. They allow you to mix and match so I reordered three Chocolate Decadence and one Ultimate Vanilla. I ran out of the Chocolate Decadence before the order arrived and could have used the Ultimate Vanilla but being set in my ways I wanted my usual chocolate fix so I used the cheap protein shake from Wal-mart that my husband used. It tasted nasty, the last few mouthfuls were chunky and the aftertaste was nauseating. It took a lot of water and brushing my teeth twice to get rid of the taste. I couldn't believe how different it was from my Energy First Chocolate Decadence.

Mid morning I started having stomach cramps and the worst gas EVER. Thinking I was coming down with some kind of stomach bug I opted for a light lunch and dinner. I also experienced cravings that afternoon but with the stomach issues I didn't want to add to them by eating chocolate. That night I felt better and chalked it up to something I had eaten. The next morning I had another Wal-mart shake. I must be a glutton for punishment because I held my nose, gagged it down and brushed my teeth twice saying a silent 'thank you' to the heavens that the case of Energy First Pro Energy shakes I had ordered were being delivered that day.

Mid morning the same thing happened severe stomach cramps and gas to make your eyes water. It was then that it hit me it was probably the Wal-mart shake. I remembered reading on the Energy First website that other mixes that were heat processed with added chemicals didn't contain the 'whey isolate' and were harder to digest. A quick call to my husband confirmed he also had the same stomach issues and had them every day but since they were much milder than my symptoms and he had more energy he figured it was a trade off. One glass of the Energy First Pro Energy drink and my husband was convinced. For the first time he had energy with no stomach issues. Sometimes the greatest test isn't using the product but how you feel when you stop using it that makes you realize how well it works.

Simple Energy First Pro Energy Protein Shake Recipes.

Here are two simple smoothie recipes that can be made with Energy First Pro Energy Protein Powder at home. The website also has a lot of recipes for shakes and smoothies.

Energy First Chocolate Decadence Smoothie

2 Cups Water
2-3 Ice Cubes
1 Banana
2 scoops Energy First Chocolate Decadence

Energy First Ultimate Vanilla Smoothie

2 Cups Water
2-3 Ice Cubes
1/2 - 1 cup frozen fruit
2 scoops Energy First Ultimate Vanilla

I would personally recommend Energy First Pro Energy.

I would personally recommend Energy First Pro Energy shakes, and I do, to family and friends on a regular basis. After using it for several months I can say it lives up to its name of Energy First. After purchasing the product as a way to reduce afternoon cravings I decided to drink it for breakfast instead after reading it could be used as a meal replacement. Since I never ate breakfast (I know, my bad) the most important meal of the day I figured maybe I should have it for breakfast and then have it in the afternoon when the cravings kicked in. The first day I immediately felt more energetic and at dinner that night I realized I never had any afternoon cravings or felt like taking a nap. At the end of the first week I was sleeping better than I had in years.

The best part is the numbers on the scale which have steadily dropped since starting to drink an Energy First Pro Energy Shake daily. I didn't just miraculously start losing weight because I have a Pro Energy shake or lose 20 pounds overnight but it did make me feel better overall which led to making healthier food choices. In addition, more energy at the end of the day has led to longer and longer walks with the dog.

Thank you. If this tells you anything my 8 year old loves it. She has one scoop in her milk in the morning. Even her teacher noticed a difference, she was less fidgety.

Great review. Lots of important information and you made it your own by sharing personal experiences. I trust reviews more when I know someone is being genuine like you. Thank you. I just might try this one. I never eat breakfast and sometimes I don't eat anything until 2 pm. Not healthy. I have a huge dinner and sometimes a snack late at night. Not healthy! This would be a good solution and a healthier lifestyle.
