Environmental studies about Healthy food and Junk food for kids
Now I'm going to explain about the healthy food and junk food. After reading this article, you should ask your mom only the healthy foods and not the junk foods.
As the name indicates, the healthy foods are always healthy for our health. Healthy foods contain vitamins, minerals, proteins, Iron and fiber which help our body to grow. Iron is especially important for brain development and function. One of the main role of iron is to oxygenate all the cells in the body, including brain-cells which promotes optimum functioning. Iron also helps guard against mind-body issues like fatigue, weakness and irritability, which can inhibit the health and happiness of you or your child. Eating plenty of the following foods will help you stay healthy.

Brief Explanation about Healthy foods
We need fruits for the healthy growth of our body. Fruits are delicious and nutritious. Some fruits are seasonal and some fruits can be got full year in the market. Fruits grow on plants and trees in the garden. Fruits are consumed with relish and pleasure by us.
The following are the list of some fruits:
- Sweet lime
Apple is rich in iron and amino acids. The Mango is called the king of fruits. Ripe mangoes are very sweet. Watermelon,Mango and Jackfruit are summer fruits. Grapes and Strawberry are winter fruits.Grapes,Oranges,Sweet lime and Watermelon are juicy fruits.Fruits such as Mango,Cherry,Plum,Peach etc., have only one seed. Fruits such as Watermelon, muskmelon, custard apple etc., have many seeds.
Fruits are generally given to the ailing patients to regain health. Fruits are known to be extremely nutritious. Fruit juice gives strength, and not unnecessary fats to the human body. So fruits are being recommended as a part of diet by the physicians for the children.
Vegetables are essential in our daily life.They are used for cooking different kinds of foods. Vegetables grow in plants, creepers and climbers. Vegetables such as potato,sweet potato,carrot, beetroot, radish,onion etc., are grown below the ground which are called roots.Vegetables are available in different colors such as green, yellow, white. Brinjal has a crown on its head. Vegetables such as Tomato, Potato, Capscicum, Onion, Cucumber etc., are used in a sandwich.
The following are some of the vegetables:
- Green Chilly
- Bell Pepper
- Fenugreek leaves
Climbers: The plant of the vegetables such as beans, snake gourd, bitter gourd, green peas etc., climbs and grow and so are called climbers.
Creepers: The plant of the vegetables such as pumpkin, botllegourd etc., creeps on the floor and grow and so are called creepers.
Leafy vegetables: Fenugreek leaves, Spinach, Mint, coriander Leaves etc., are called as leafy vegetables
Not only the solid foods are good for our health but also the fluids. The following are the fluids we intake as a healthy drink.
- Fruit Juices
- Tender Coconut water
Milk is a source of calcium and Protein which is good for our teeth and bones. From Milk, we can get Curd, Butter milk, Cheese, Butter and Ghee. Water prevents us from dehydration.We have to drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday. Drinking plenty of water helps our skin to look good, improves kidney function and so on.Tender Coconut water is good for our hair growth and skin glow. Fruit juices are got from the juicy fruits such as orange, grapes, sweet lime etc.
In this world, some people like vegetarian foods such as fruits and vegetables and some people like non vegetarian foods. Some people take both vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian foods. The foods which come from animals are called as non-vegetarian foods. The following are some of the non-vegetarian foods.
Nuts are high in fat, but it is good for the heart and arteries as olive oil. Nuts are also loaded with protein and essential vitamins and minerals and they are wonderfully filling. The following are some of the nuts.
- Cashew nuts
Raisins are loaded with antioxidants and high in carbohydrates (an immediate source of energy). Raisins are also high in fiber and iron. Kids love those little single-serving boxes.
Pulses and Cereals:
These are used in our daily life. We use pulses and cereals to prepare foods and snacks.
The following are some of the Cereals:
- Brown rice
The following are some of the Pulses:
- Red Gram
- Chick peas
- Bengal Gram
- Black Gram
- Green Gram
- Beaten rice
- Puffed rice
- Kidney Beans
- Horse gram
Sprouts are prepared using pulses. Sprouting is the practice of germinating the pulses to be eaten raw or cooked. Sprouting activates food enzymes and increases vitamin content. It is very good for our health.
Junk foods are low in nutrients and high in calories with large amount of harmful ingredients. Now a days, children love junk foods than healthy foods. This is a dangerous sign to the health of our kids. Because of its harmful ingredients, we may get obesity, high blood-pressure and diabetes. We wont get enormous strength to our body. So its always better to avoid junk foods.

- Unhealthy Snacks
Say NO to Junk Foods
And last and not the least, we have to train our kids to eat healthy foods and not Junk foods.
