Choosing The Right Chair for Your Back

Choosing the best fitting chair for your back will make a world of difference. The chair should fit your body, feel comfortable, have either a fixed or an adjustable lumbar support, back rest sized properly and adjustable and the seat should have enough foam to adequately support your weight and may come with an adjustable tilt seat cushion. While sitting in the chair you should be able to recline easily. For easy gliding movement you will want a base with castors. Chair arms are an option with ergonomic office chairs and adjustable arms would be the optimum choice. Depending the brand, style, upholstery materials used and chair options, an ergonomic chair can cost you anywhere from one hundred dollars up to an over one thousand dollars. Before you decide on which chair you are going to purchase research all of your top choices. Visit stores and sit in the chairs to make sure it is the one that you want. A warranty with a minimum of one year from a manufacturer should be included no matter what chair you buy.

I like this hub as I have been thinking might need a new desk chair. The one I have is well made but starting to show some wear.

Great hub. Often we don't pay attention to our chairs, tables etc., when bashing away on a keyboard despite the high risk of repetitive stress injury. Hubs like this remind us how to take care of ourselves and do something about it before we get a painful injury. Thanks for the great information.
