Essentrics Exercise for Health
Introduction
Good health is one of the blessings of a good life. Achieving good health involves diet, exercise and meditation, the mind, body and soul. One such simple exercise, especially for elders, is essentrics. This exercise tries to move all 650 muscles in your body. The belief is that the body is fully connected and every part plays an important role in a healthy pain free body.

Background
When I first learned about this exercise, I recognized similarities between essentrics and the ancient Chinese art of Tai Chi and also the sport of fencing. Both of which I know something about.
The key element of essentrics is the slow movement of the body in various forms to stretch the various muscles and condition our brain. The small incremental movements is what allows the body to heal and learn and lubricate our joints.
Tai Chi has very similar ideas but it also stresses the importance of breathing. By combining simple slow movements with deep breathing, it helps the body with balance and strength and stamina.
The art and sport of fencing is very similar In the sense that it shares some of the same body forms and movements. Of course, it is done much faster in a combative environment when faced with an opponent on the other side of the strip. The simple lunge is one such move that is common to essentrics and tai chi and fencing.
