There are times in our lives, when we start feeling very low, both physically and emotionally.
- You come to the conclusion that 'Life is not worth living', or 'It is all useless or worthless' or 'I can't handle this now' and things like that.
- It can be due to various reasons, which may not be very significant too.
- Some significant reasons could be Relationship problems, Workplace problems, Hormonal changes, Bullying, Ups and Downs of life etc.
- But the lack of enthusiasm or lack of energy leaves us depressed, sad, worried, frustrated and unable to concentrate or remain focussed to perform even our daily routine
- It has happened to me and it must have happened with many of you.
- Lets not get into the details of Why it happens but to focus on How can we overcome this state of mind and/ or body.
There may be various Therapies to deal with such a situation. But I am going to talk about some Therapies which I have tried unknowingly and they did work.

1. Family Therapy:
Family comes first for many of us. So what better way to bounce back, by being surrounded by people, who love you and care for you.
Sharing your concerns with your loved ones will relax you and words of comfort will reassure you that everything will be fine.
Whenever I feel low or lack spirit to do anything, this has always helped me. I may not even share my problems with them, but just by talking to them gives me a feeling that someone is there if everything goes wrong or not according to expectation.
This holds true even with close friends, neighbors or anyone you can trust.
2. Children Therapy:
This may seem strange to some, because many people want to go into isolation, when they feel low. Contrary to that go and sit among the kids. You will feel wonderful, when you listen to their little talks.
I often go to the children's park in the evening, where lot of children are playing. Look at their activities, their little talks. They are so selfless, so easily they mingle with each other, without caring about who owns what.
Their immense positive energy is sure to eliminate all negativity from anyone, who observes them closely.
3. Shopping Therapy:
This is very unique idea but it does work, especially with women.
Shopping does not always mean you have to compulsorily spend money or buy something. You can always go for Window Shopping, browse the shops for latest trends, roam about, enjoy some great company and come back rejuvenated.
Whenever I visit Shopping Malls to cheer myself up. I do like to observe the new trends in the display window or merely being surrounded by so many well dressed enthusiastic people is enough to bounce me back.
4. Cooking Therapy:
This is something we can always try. I love cooking for my family and get appreciation and love in return. But there are times, when I am feeling low and do not wish to even cook.
Then what do I do! Well, I cook even then but with a difference. I involve my family and become a Director, try something different from the usual menu. I have tried cooking outside the kitchen in the open as well and it is fun with everyone doing their part.

5. Music Therapy:
Music most certainly brings you close to Nature and Nature is the healer, a rejuvenator.
There are very few people who would say I do not like music. The choices may be different however. Some like Rock, while others may like Folk or Light music.
Whenever I feel low, I do listen to Light music, which may be devotional songs, ghazals, instrumental music such as Sitar etc.
If you can sing yourself, nothing like it. Singing is emotive and has a soothing effect on our Nervous system. Therefore sing out aloud your favorite song and you will be recharged again.
If you can play a musical instrument, such as Guitar, Violin, Sitar or Tabla or any other instrument, it is really a wonderful way to boost your mood.
6. Creative work Therapy:
If you know some kind of Art form, whether Painting, Craft, Embroidery, Sculpture you can never feel Low.
Creative people live in their own beautiful world of imagination. Even if they are physically not doing their preferred creative work, their mind is engrossed in exploring new ideas or their new projects.
Writing is also a creative form of expressing our thoughts.
Engaging ourselves in such activities gives the joy of creation and it gives happiness and satisfaction to the self.
Exercise or Fitness or Sports Therapy!

7. Exercise Therapy:
This definitely works because it affects our mind and body both. Anyone who exercises everyday even for half an hour, will perhaps never complain of feeling low.
An Exercise or a Walk in the park or simple Yogic exercises are very beneficial to recharge ourselves.
This Therapy has a positive impact on our whole system as it removes stress and all the negative thoughts just leave you.
It is even better if you go in the open air, in the garden, besides a Beach to do exercise or simply walk.
Playing a Sport, whether Indoor or Outdoor is another effective way to recharge ourselves.
Life is all about Ups and Downs and Struggles, Success and Failure. Reaching for that Anti-Depressants medicine, whenever we start feeling Low is not an answer.
One must be active, busy, be involved and treat failures as a learning experience and a step towards success.
Life is beautiful and should be enjoyed.
