Scientific studies have actually shown that many foods can help in the prevention, treatment, and ultimate cure of the cancer. Studies show that by eating certain foods, one can decrease the chances of getting cancer, and also most importantly can aid in curing cancer. This article's purpose is to present my readers with some well studied facts on how diet, can not only affect the production of cancer cells in the body, but also how diet can work to fight cancer cells, and aid in cancer cure. I hope to present a good case on how eating certain foods can work to deactivate cancer cells in the body. However, most importantly I hope to arm cancer patients with the knowledge that diet, and lifestyle changes can be an effective weapon to fight an existing cancer. Just because something is not proven 100% to be helpful, does it mean that it is not helpful at all?

Because the prognosis of many types of cancers is poor, one would surmise that a person with cancer would have nothing to lose by trying several different treatments simultaneously. In order to have perhaps a chance at living long term. In the case of cancer, and the question, will a healthful diet along with a less stressful lifestyle aid in escaping cancer or battling the disease itself. As it stands today no one has gone to the tremendous expense or effort of proving that diet, and lifestyle changes can aid in preventing cancer, and also aiding in its cure. The medical community, although more accepting that diet plays a big part in getting cancer, does not appear to grasp the possibility that diet may aid in a patient beating cancer at its own game.

It's unfortunate that so little research has been done in regard to cancer and diet. However, who would actually go to the expense required to put on clinical trials, and prove to the FDA that something other than medication might work to aid in cancer cure. After all the drug companies that conduct most cancer studies hope at the end of the study to recoup their investment.

This may be one of the soul reasons things like nutrition, organic food, and herbal supplements, will never be totally proven to be beneficial in the treatment or cure of cancer. It certainly stands to reason that a healthier body in general, would be therefore, more able to fight any disease, including cancer.

Oncogenes and faulty receptors are certainly critical to the formation of cancerous tumors. (Oncogenes: a gene having the potential to cause a normal cell to become cancerous)

The cell mass produced by the overproduction of the cancer cells need a blood supply to keep them “so to say” in business. Blood vessels form, and feed the tumor. Studies show, that the blood vessels that feed a growing tumor are very important to the tumor. Without a steady supply of oxygen and nutrients provided by the blood vessels, cancerous tissues will die off. If the tumor has a good supply of oxygen and nutrients provided to the blood vessels, the cancerous tumor will grow and flourish. Left untreated the cancer will spread throughout the body.

When any form of inflammation occurs in the body, a well working immune system is equipped to produce "helper T cells" which stimulate the "B cells" to make antibodies, these antibodies attach to white blood cells, and travel to the problem area in the body. The invasion of the white blood cell prevent the inflammation from reproducing in the cell, by denaturing the foreign cells. In the case of cancer, the white blood cells disrupt the cancer cells growth, and make all attempts to kill the cell before it starts to divides.

Let’s face it, I am not a doctor, I am a Registered Nurse with a background in science. I am going to try to keep it simple. I don’t want any of my readers to turn away due to this article being too scientific or just plain boring, and complicated. I want my readers to take away some knowledge on what foods can help them stave off cancer, and help building a healthier body. A body that if need be, can fight off Cancerous diseases.

Dark Chocolate - Can Help Cut Off The Blood Supply To Cancer Cells

Dark chocolate is known to have a number of important antioxidants. polyphenols, and proanthocyanidins. Actually twice as many as a glass of wine.       The nutritional aspect of cancer prevention and treatment is hugely underestimated. It is shocking to know that many cancer patients are told to eat as they always have and not given a strict food list to aid in saving their life. The cancer survivors that I know are those who did address their health from a nutritional perspective, doing their research to find out what to avoid and what to consume. Thanks for highlighting this topic and opening up a discussion about it.
