Achieving Inner Peace and Happiness
Inner peace is not equated with contentment. It refers to a mental and spiritual state of being at peace with oneself and the strength no matter what the odds and problems one faces. It stems s from the realization of a person's real purpose in life and knowing the path to take to get him there. Inner peace and happinessare two inseparable concept because a person cannot be totally happy if he is not at peace with himself.
Happiness is relative
One person's concept of happiness is different from that of another. To some it can mean spending the rest his life with the person he wants to be with. To another it could mean living the life he dreams of. And yet, many people are fortunate to live their dream but wonder why they are still unhappy.
Happiness is a very subjective issue because every person has a different definition of what constitutes. Many equate happiness with having wealth but on the opposite side of the spectrum are individuals who are poor moneywise or by western world standards but seem to live happily.
On the same path is that in search for seemingly elusive inner peace. Inner peace is that state of being secure and content with your place in the cosmos. It is deemed to be a source of ultimate happiness. A happiness that is beyond the pleasure obtained from the accumulation of material things.
There is the misleading notion that wealth will make you happy and will solve all your troubles. Indeed, money can make life easy but when not handled properly, it can be the root of all of life's evils. Money when handled and invested properly will give you a comfortable life and it affords a greater opportunity for one to help others. However, in the wrong hands, it can be the source of one's miseries.
How do you find inner peace and happiness
You don't have to search and look further. Inner peace is only found within. You have to be at terms with who you are and your place in this world. It starts with knowing what your priorities are, is it family, wealth, or both?
One who has not found inner peace will not find real happiness and wealth nor success has nothing to do with it. It is not an unknown fact that many celebrities have taken their own lives while in the pinnacle of success. While normal people look up to them as a sort of inspiration in material success, their actions would dispel the notion that mere wealth or success equates to happiness.
Start looking within, know what are the real priorities in life and what are the things that really matter most. By self examination, these things will be revealed and the path to inner peace can be opened without much difficulty.
