Fitness: The reason you have absolutely No Excuse for not Exercising

Updated on June 6, 2017

.

They say exercise is good for you. It tones the body, keeps you fit and you can have an ideal weight. I agree to all that, but absolutely hate exercising and these are my excuses:

*•☆

1). I don’t have time during the week and I like to relax at weekends.

2) I don’t know how to use the equipment in the Gym anyway.

3) Exercise gives you muscles and I don’t want to have arms like a woman wrestler.

4) The few times I do exercise, my body hurts so much the day after.

5). I’m not over-weight.

6) The cat ate one of my sports shoes – the only one I have.

7) I don’t use the elevators at work. I use the stairs, so that must keep me fit.

8) I’m waiting for summer, when it’s warmer to jog outside. (come summer, it will then be my New Year's resolution).

9) What if I pull a muscle?

.

*•☆

So, those were my excuses, until I saw the photo of grandma below.

She rocks and she is so into her exercise routine.

If she can exercise like that, then what’s my excuse?

.

Do you enjoy Exercise and do you have a favourite one?

Lol, that single picture cracks me up. Absolutely no excuse now--she single-handedly just put me to shame with my lousy excuses. Always a delight to read your work and rating it up.

@Paulgc ~ Hi Paul. Riding a bike is good and what a lovely way for you to take photos. I wouldn't mind riding a bike.....once a month. I'm sure the riding is enough to keep you fit. Thanks for stopping.

      Oh Elena...you spoke my mind...lol

I can't do cardio exercises but, love yoga. So, try to focus on my yoga regime everyday. However, cardio's tend to make your lose the calories much faster than the latter so, let's hope that one fine day...I can try to alternate and still have fun :)

@PlatinumOwl - Aawwh.. bless. I don't think I've even seen a 60 year old African woman exercising. On a good note, when ever you need motivation to exercise, you can think of her. Good to see you again. :)

@DonnaIsabella - I'm thinking along those lines too. She must have been a ballerina or a lady who used to practice serious Yoga. The yoga with those bendy poses. Always a pleasure to see you Thanks. :)

      Hello Elena,

very good hub, makes you think about things.

I try to exercise as often as i can and this mainly involves me riding my bike. I ride my bike everywhere, especially when out making photographs. Hopefully the riding is enough to keep me fit.

      Thanks for sharing.

What a hub, i always consider myself fit enough not to exercise but just after looking that grandma, am not fit at all. Thanx gal, voted up.

Lady_E, you always manage to bring a smile to my face with your hubs. I sure like this one - I am doubly guilty and was even too embarrassed to leave a comment here. I love walking as an exercise. AS for grand ma in that picture, my excuse would be, she was probably a ballerina and has been doing that all her life, I could never lift my leg that straight and that high. On second thoughts, I think the picture has been edited...Oh, I must stop it!

Hello Lady_E, I knew and black woman who exercised precisely in this manner, she was in her eighties, everyone looked forward to seeing her daily. Then one day our looking was disrupted. She had died in the middle of the night. punish the cat

I've used lack of time more than once - too much actually. SOmetimes, it I just need to nudge to start something.

Btw, is the granny picture photoshoped? if not, wow! Such flexibility at her age.

I teach fitness classes, and one year while at a fair, someone walked by our fitness booth and said (while eating a deep fried snack)...

"I'd have to lose weight first before I could exercise"...

That was one of the funniest or most pathetic excuses I had heard.

Love the picture you posted - it's been one of my favorites for years!

      Nice hub:)

@Happybummernurse ~ That's good. To me, that's enough exercise, riding a bike a few times a week. Thanks for stopping by to share.

@TimeTraveler ~ Aaawh... I hope the Arthritis get's better. They say it does when there is warm weather and spring is so close. Good to see you.

Cute hub...but painfully true. I'm bad about this, also, but my excuse is that I have arthritis and it just hurts too much. No, huh???

Love the humor in this hub. Unfortunately I don't follow a regular exercise regimen but I do walk and/or ride a bike 4 to 5 times a week.

Love the photo of Grandma. What an inspiration and testament to the benefits of stretching exercises!

Voted up, useful, funny and interesting.
