The Best Health and Fitness Apps for Android Smartphones
There's an App for that!!!
Everybody these days carries a smartphone, and for good reason! A smartphone can really do a lot for you, especially an Android smartphone. Using googles app store, you can download many useful tools to help you stick to a personalized fitness routine, count calories, and even track calories burned. With smartphones, it's never been easier than it is now to get into shape and stay that way. With fitness apps, it's like having your very own personal trainer in your pocket, ready to help you whenever and wherever you need it. And it's definitely a lot cheaper! Who cares about Angry Birds, and Words With Friends?? These Apps will whip you into shape faster than you can type a text message!
Calorie Counter is an amazing little app that packs a punch for Android users! It has many uses for those who are looking to eat better and/or get fit. It even has a barcode scanner so that you can quickly scan the code and add the calorie count to your food diary for the day. It tells you how much you should be eating daily, according to your current weight, weight loss goal, and activity level. If it is an item that you can't just scan a barcode, then you can search for the item individually to get an accurate calorie count according to portion size. It's a delightful little surprise for those who have discovered this little gem, and has become increasingly popular. It is definitely worthy of the number one spot for the best Android health and fitness Apps.
This really is an awesome little App, and you'll be sure to get a lot of use out of it if you use running as a way to keep your fitness level up. It keeps track of all the hard stuff for you. It will show your lap times, distance, average and current speed, etc. All you have to do is use it! It also has a sort of social networking function built in, which adds to it's over all functionality. You can add your own course, and when other users complete it you can see how you compare side by side. It also has a pep talk feature, where other users can send you a short message of encouragement, which in turn is read out loud to you by the app. How cool is that?
Cardio Trainer is fabulous for those of you who like to get up and go. It includes many different types of exercises, including running, biking, even weighlifting. It has a pedometer to track calories burned, pace, steps, elevation, etc. It has voice notifications so that you can keep track in real time, and you can even listen to music and the voice on the app will actually talk OVER the music so that you can enjoy both at the same time. It keeps track of your history too, and lets you see how you compare to others. You can even upload your personal workouts to Facebook to let your friends see how amazing you are!
My Fitness Pal
This is another great app for calorie counting, and keeping track of daily activities. It also has a bar code scanner to track calories consumed, and it allows you to enter any exercise done throughout the day and will then recalculate your calorie needs for that day. You can search for foods, and it will keep track of foods that you use most often so that they are easily found. My personal favorite part about this app though, is that at the end of each day, you can complete your logging and the app will show you how much you would weigh in five weeks time if you ate/exercised that same amount each day forward. This is just a great motivator. It will help keep you from falling off the wagon, because it's showing you what could be if you just stick with it. Or if you ate way too many calories that day, it can also help you JUMP quickly back on the wagon!
Jefit is for those who enjoy bodybuilding, weight lifting, or working out at the gym. It has over 500 exercises built in, with clear instructions and animations to help you do each one as accurately and safely as possible. It also has different routines which were created by other users, that you can rate and review, and even integrate into your own routine. Jefit will quickly become your new best workout buddy, because it pretty much does everything for you except for the workout itself. It keeps track of sets, reps, and even rest time. It is also set up in a way that keeps things simple, but useful at the same time.
