‘I am always stressed and tensed and I cannot relax’ this is a common complaint you hear even among youngsters. Your lifestyle has become highly hectic and you have no time to relax. You are always edgy and stressed. You face crushing competitions everywhere which makes you feel very tired and listless.
Unless you know how to relax you might as well be heading for a nervous breakdown. What is the use of earning thousands of dollars if you cannot unwind your tensed mind and calm down your seething thoughts?
‘How can I relax with so much of work load at work place and tons of problems in family’? Problems will always be there and if you give undue importance to it, you cannot enjoy your life. You should know the trick of relaxing to see true happiness in life.
What are the ways to relax your tensed mind?
1. Listening to music
Whenever I feel stressed l listen to music and it does chill you out in a most relaxing manner. Choose a calm place and a comfortable chair. Let the lights be dim and relax your body in a relaxed manner. Close your eyes and listen to your favorite music. You can feel the music oozing into your frayed nerves and unwinding your mental strain.
When you meditate regularly you feel calm and relaxed as your mind becomes clear and clarified. What is meditation actually? Your body and mind sync in perfect harmony so that your disturbed thoughts do not plague you. You should not let unnecessary thoughts disturb you when you meditate.
Meditation gives clarity to your mind and you see things in its proper perspective. Why are you stressed? It is because you feel that your problems are mounting and you are incapable of coping with it. When your mind becomes calm, you do not get irritated and angry easily.
3. Spend quality time with your family
It is not enough if you live in the same house and call yourself a family. You must spend quality time with them. You should play with your children, small talk with your spouse and enjoy your time with them. Plan a vacation with your family as it gives you incredible relaxation when you away from your worries. The fun and frolic your children have makes you unwind completely.
4. Go for shopping
What is your daily routine?
You wake up, get ready hurriedly, go to work, spend tensed moments at workplace, and return home with your head swirling with stressed thoughts about another hectic day. This is the scenario you face daily during the week days. Your weekends are mostly occupied in catching up with the pending household chores and in fact you have more work during your weekends.
Take some time off and go for shopping and pamper yourself with things you wanted to buy. You deserve it and it makes you feel happy, carefree and relaxed. You need not spend a lot of money as it is the feeling of goodness you experience when you get things you want that is important.
5. Have some ‘me time'
You always do things for others. You work for your family, slave for your company and there is no time for yourself. This makes you highly strung up and worked up. You should have the all important 'me time' wherein you can be just yourself. I always get up very early in the morning and spend some time all alone thinking, planning and generally relaxing. I enjoy the calm. It gives me strength to gather vigor for a hectic day ahead.
When you are always tensed and keyed up, it tells on your health in a negative way. What happens when you hold a string too tight? It will snap, won’t it? It is the same with you also. If you are always nervous and jumpy, there will be no enjoyment in your life. If you relax your mind and body, you can become cool and unruffled to face any situation in life.
