From 176.37 lbs. to 141.096 lbs. in Six Months: Eating Healthy, Not Little

Updated on July 1, 2017

I really wanted to change, but I knew it was not going to be easy. And It was not easy. I grabbed a paper and started writing what I didn't like about myself. I really realized that I was wrong with myself. I didn't love myself. I felt ugly and fat. Every night before going to sleep I tought: "why other girls eat and do not get fat and I do?".

One november night I sat in front of the mirror and I promised myself to love me. That night I cried what I had not cried in years. I decided that I needed to leave my comfort zone and achieve all my goals.

The next morning, I got up, washed my teeth, had an apple and vanilla yogurt for breakfast and then, I went to the supermarket to buy everything I needed for my new lifestyle. The game had begun, there was no turning back.

One of the questions that I could not get out of my head was: I have to eat less or better? I concluded that I had to eat a little less to reduce the stomach but also had yo eat healthier. The first days were the most difficult. Once I read that the body takes 21 days to acquire a habit. The most important thing is to insist, to have patience, constancy and perseverance.

Some days I wanted to cry, shout and eat all the sweet I found. But despite being in that state of anxiety, in my mind was still present my goal: to lose weight. To be healthy and happy with my body. Accept and love me as I am. And it was difficult, because it is not achieved from one morning to the next. Are months of effort, discipline, constancy and will.

TIPS

There are things that helped me a lot in this process of change and I would like to share them with you, and who knows, maybe you will also serve them.

1) To start what I did was change the dishes. Stop using the large plates and start using the smaller ones that are usually used to eat dessert (as photo number 1).

2) When I was hungry but I had already eaten and I was anxious I ate a piece of strawberry chewing gum. That calmed my anxiety as I chewed.

3) Before eating the main course I ate a vegetable soup to feel satisfied and then not eat the food fast. So at the time of eating the main meal I did not feel craved and ate quiet, and thus could enjoy more food.

4) My breakfasts had a lot of protein. That helped me not to be hungry during the morning and to reduce my anxiety. Why does this happen? Because one of the properties of the protein is that it gives us a lot of satiety

Below I show you some of the dishes that helped me to lose weight. Super nutritious and easy to make.

One of my favourites: mashed potatoes, steamed carrots and a well done steak. (1)
