Garcinia Cambogia Fruit or Tamarind Fruit

Dr. Oz has called garcinia cambogia the fastest fat buster. This was written December 2, 2013. The benefits of plants or herbs are nothing new.

For example about 50 years go there was a plant that was introduced to the U.S. that was said to have many healing abilities. That herb is now in thousands of products in the United States. It is called aloe vera.

People use an extract of the garcinia cambogia fruit or tamarind fruit to lose weight or weight loss. So I looked up this product on where people give a product from one to five stars (the first product below)

1,735 people gave it 5 stars meaning that it worked very well in helping them to lose weight. Four stars means that it also working. 2,113 people gave it 4 stars. A person that gave it 4 stars said:

It is working and I am glad I tried it. This has been by far the most effective one I tried and I did not even change my food intake ( I do not exercise regularly too).

1.029 people rated it 3 stars. One person that gave it 3 stars said that they stopped taking it after a few days since it irritated her stomach. 335 people gave it 2 stars and 376 gave it 1 star. That means that it did not work.

This means there is a very good chance of it helping you to lose weight but it may not work at all. When a doctor gives you a medication and it does not work then he has you try another one and keeps trying to find one that does work.

On one webpage they were talking about products that Dr. Oz promotes for weight loss or losing weight. It says that they do not believe that it is as good for burning fat as is green coffee. They said that they do not believe that it is better than African mango for blocking hunger.

But they say that makes it unique is that it does both. The product is made from the rind of the tamarind fruit, that resembles a tiny pumpkin. This fruit is full of tons of anti-oxidants and phytochemicals (plant medicines) that help in combating fat and also reduce the effects of aging.

It also helps people to have more energy. It is said that people that are pregnant, breastfeeding or have dementia or Alzheimer's disease should not take it. It is said to decrease belly fat. Since it increases the serotonin levels it helps emotional eaters. Serotonin is a hormone responsible for stimulation of the smooth muscles, transmission of impulses between nerve cells, and regulation of cyclic body processes.

A comment on says:

It's supposed to decrease belly fat by decreasing CORTISOL via increasing serotonin levels. Increasing serotonin gives you an increased sense of well-being and reduces emotional eating. You will see an increased percentage of lean muscle and decreased body fat, which helps decrease cholesterol in the bloodstream. Also, any increase in serotonin helps with sleep.

This article explains that when the body starts to have excess fat, the body produces a hormone called leptin. This hormone causes a person to have a suppression of appetite and an increase in metabolism. This helps the person to get rid of this excess weight.

But there are inflammatory foods that increase inflammation in the body and causes the leptin to not work. In other words these foods make the body leptin-resistant. Please note that consuming salt increases appetite so people eat more. This is why food manufacturers and restaurants put a lot of salt in foods.

They could make these foods without salt and let a person add their own salt if they needed to. Also consuming salt causes people to retain a lot of water weight and this looks worse than fat. For more on this see Can Salt Make You Overweight. Please note that foods have enough sodium in them and salt is not a food. It is a rock and a crystal.

They have found that many companies will not use the advertised herb in the product and substitute something else. So it is very important to use a very reputable company. A guest host on on the Dr. Oz TV show, Dr. Lindsey, said the following about garcinia cambogia:

The first way is it goes in and causes the body to burn glucose, or sugar, and burn fat, mainly in the liver. The second way, the most important way, is it slows the release of sugar into the blood stream. So when you don't have sugar building up in the blood stream, you don't have fat building up because sugar turns to fat. When the two are combined together, you get this synergistic effect that basically burns and blocks and stops fat, but it also is natural and safe.

In a study published in the journal Lipids in Health & Disease, subjects taking this herb or fruit extract lost an average of 19.3 pounds in 28 days without diet or exercise. One woman says that on the first week her energy levels were high and she was not hungry and she lost 5 pounds. After 5 weeks she had lost 29 pounds.
