Life Have Its Gift

Updated on August 27, 2011

Having a father in a daughter life is one of the most precious gifts God could ever give you. My dad is the best dad I ever have in my entire life and know other dad could ever replace him. I never knew how much I love my dad until my dad nearly lost his life from a stroke. One early morning my mom came banging on my bedroom door waking me up. She told me she don’t know what was wrong with my dad. I went to check on my dad and he was soaked up with sweat. I knew something wasn’t right, he was unable to talk and a little confuse for that moment. Fifteen minute later, he was back to normal. I checked his blood pressure and it was as high as 150/100. I took him in the emergency room and one of the nurses came to me and asks me what was wrong with my dad. I explain to her what actually happen that morning and she came back telling me this is not an emergency. She asked me rudely, “Do you know what an emergency is?”

I looked at her and I was amazed by what she asked me. I started arguing with her and another nurse would come to pull me to the side. A few minute later my dad ended up having a seizure for that 30 second and another one a few minute after. Thank God I didn’t lose my dad. He is still living today perfectly fine.

This story that I decided to share to you today is to show you that life has its gift. If you have a gift to live in this world, live it to the best of your knowledge because you have one life to live and this is now. If you have a father, a mother or someone that you love that is part of your life, tell them how much you love them because you never know when they will die.

On my little sister birthday, I went out to pick up her birthday cake at a nearby store. On my way back home a drunk driver hit the side of my car and my car spun around hitting the stop light pole. I remember calling out for my mom and I knew deep inside that I won’t make it to my sister birthday party. I woke up in the hospital and I realize that I have another chance to live.

Life has its gift and we should use it unconditionally. The quality of life is what make us human.

This is so very true and I am glad that you did not have to suffer losing one of your parents. I lost my mother at an early age and my dad is barely holding on now. You will find that as people we use a sliding scale to weigh our losses and heartaches. When the nurse explained that it wasn't really an emergency, she was not living your life and your were not experiencing hers. Neither one of you being wrong, just seeing things through different eyes. I am glad you know how precious life is and how quickly it can change within seconds....
