Gluten Free Diet Recipes

Gluten-free diet is a form of strict diet free of gluten - all foods that contain rye, wheat, grains and barley - and is recommended for those who suffer from Celiac disease.

People afflicted with Celiac Disease (also spelled Coeliac) suffer from a small-intestine autoimmune disorder, created by an inflammatory reaction to gliadin, a Gluten glycoprotein, (a carbohydrate plus a protein) which is found in wheat as well as in a variety of Triticeae-tribe cereals.

Symptoms associated with Celiac Disorder go from anemia and weight-loss, to abdominal pain and mouth ulcers. Needless to say, people with Celiac Disease have to tag on a carefully-laid diet in order to keep the illness "at bay".

Celiac Disease can be fully contained and controlled by means of following an absolutely-no-gluten-included alimentary program. Biopsy will be performed after a fair amount of time has passed since the first procedure and the exclusion of Gluten from the patient's diet (usually two months, up to the medical practitioner to consider). The subject's intestines should expose advanced (if not full) recovery. Gluten is then reincorporated for the patient's consumption.

3rd. Biopsy reveals that the intestines have been damaged again due to the reincorporation of Gluten to the subject's organism.

Last, but not least, whatever your reasons for applying to a gluten-free dietary might be, always remember to never self-medicate, nor ever expose yourself and those around you to the perils of heath abandonment.

TIP 1 - NO WHEAT: that's the name of the game when it comes to gluten-free diet recipes. Barley, rye, malt and, in most cases, oats are strictly prohibited.

TIP 2 - READ THE SMALL LETTER: always pay attention to the package's list of ingredients; make sure that none of the above mentioned "keywords" are in it. Any products containing grain, flour, such as most breakfast cereal, cookies, and malt related products, among others, are all out of the question and can't be consumed either.

Now this point may seem like obvious, but you'd be surprised to see the numbers of people getting themselves into trouble just for not taking a proper look at packages' ingredients lists and nutritional info. (let alone expiration date!)

TIP 3 - YOUR IILNESS, YOUR WAY OF LIFE: being a Celiac is a life-long condition, and it can be a real downer and make you feel like you've been excluded from society; much like with any other life-enduring illness or impediment OR, it can be like having a lifetime membership for an exclusive association!

And that is simply because "much like with any other life-enduring illness or impediment" it gets people with a similar condition to come together, which ultimately makes for a group of interest. As a faithful proof of that, there are many of Celiac Gathering Clubs, Celiac Support and Excursion Groups, Tour Groups and Breakfast Clubs; also Celiac oriented material such as WebPages, Forums and Magazines, and Radio shows.

Also, most countries have at least one State's Official Celiac Associations, which are most likely to be capable of providing you with not only first-hand professional info but also, with some new friends who'll understand and support you as much as any friend or relative.

Bottom line is: you're NEVER ALONE. Once you're aware of the fact, it'll give you a completely new and optimistic look on things - IF you don't already have it.

Now, that's good news.

The gluten free weight loss diet has also caught on for people all over the world as a form of alternative weight loss diet but before jumping on the bandwagon of gluten free diet, make sure that you are properly informed on what it can do for you.

      Nice hub. We're gluten free because my son is in the autism spectrum and cannot tolerate gluten (wheat) or casein (dairy).
