Diet And Weight Loss

Updated on March 24, 2013

Today more and more people are facing the risk of heart attack and high blood pressure due to excess eating and also wrong eating habits. Obesity is one of the most common diseases in the world and more and more people are contacting it. If obesity goes unchecked for a long time it can lead to heart attacks and high blood pressure besides hypertension. As a result keeping the body weight in check becomes a prime concern amongst the people and the best results can be achieved by diet and weight loss or also known as weight nutrition.

As everyone knows that proper nutrition refers to a balanced intake of various types of vitamins, proteins and carbohydrates and ensuring that the minimum requirements of calories intake by an individual is satisfied everyday, weight nutrition refers to nutrition but not at the expense of gaining extra or excess weight. Quick weight loss is one of the toughest things to achieve. It is observed that once people gain weight they find it difficult day by day to lose it and even if they lose it, it is difficult to maintain the same weight at that level.

Weight nutrition lays emphasis on good eating habits without gaining weight. Which means eating more of fruits, vegetables and pulses which provide those much needed amounts of vitamins, carbohydrates and minerals? There are hundreds of weight loss programs - weight loss diets and weight loss exercise diets to choose from depending on the person and his physical condition and his weight.

People often make a mistake when they try to lose weight quickly by suddenly eating very small amounts of food every day, but in fact this practice may lead to more weight gain as our hunger for food increases and so people tend to eat large quantities when they do sit down at the table. Weight nutrition sees to it that the people have their food at the proper times at all times of the day. The food consists more of fruits, vegetables and salads and moderate quantities of breads and other fatty foods. Fatty foods cannot be avoided completely as they are the main source of carbohydrates which finally get converted into calories and energy in our body.

Finally in addition to weight nutrition it is necessary to maintain the weight loss by giving equal attention to one’s exercise regime. Exercise is very much a part of this program. In fact the best way to lose weight and maintain it is through a proper diet regime and doing regular exercise at least 4-5 times a week. Weight nutrition, if followed properly can bring in very positive results in a short period of time, just by following these weight loss tips.

Weight loss should mean having a balanced diet which fulfils all the dietary requirements of the body without our body being at the risk of gaining weight and keeping our body fit and flexible through a proper exercise regime. It ultimately leads to weight loss which finally decreases the risk of heart disease, diabetes, sleep related problems and other joint related diseases like osteoarthritis.
