Grave stones set on hollow ground,
set in eery silence.
Time is all we have.
We never know when our time in this life is going to come to a sudden halt.
Don't take for granted the time you can spend with someone you love, it can be over in the blink of an eye.
I took for granted time I could of spent,
My granddad just died.
He was the living model of the man I always wanted to be,
I drifted so far away,
I'll never possess his integrity.
He was a man who loved his family,
He was a man on the right side of life,
I been locked up, I been a liar, a drunkard, a thief,
I had time to go and visit, to say hello,
Last night I watched him slip in and out,
He died after I got back home.
I made it to say goodbye,
Wish I would have made it to say hello,
The mourning I feel I know is mine,
Grandad is now somewhere divine, where love is shared, he's feeling fine, with loved one's he's missed, that left him behind, when they took their ride to the other side, he's happy.
Yet; I can't not regret that I had time,
I let it slip away.
Life is short, take that ride, to see them while they're still alive, to thank them for all they done,
and just to say hello,
I love you.
R.I.P. I will always miss you Grandpa, be at peace, your home now.
