Petals of rose flower are preserved in the form of sweet jam popularly known as Gulkand. It preserved in airtight glass jar and exposed to sunlight for few hours for early few weeks of preparation.

This Ayurvedic tonic has been proved to carry numerous health benefits mainly due to its cooling properties. It helps in reduction of body heat, eye inflammation, redness, helps in strengthening teeth and gums, treatment of acidity etc. Soft drinks added or prepared with gulkand is one of the good refreshment drinks helps to fight against tiredness, lethargy and gives freshness. It is also good reliever for itching, aches and pains reducing the burning sensation due to heat. It is also helpful in treating mouth ulcers. Gulkand is one of the excellent digestive tonics that help in improving digestion and individual's appetite. It is also helpful in purification of blood and removing toxins from the body.
