Guide to Calming the Mind and Relaxing the Body

Updated on March 25, 2012

Breath deeply

The way you breathe also varies, is it deep, slow, shallow or fast? Breath in and out with your nose and simply focus on your being. Become aware of your body and release any tension that you feel. This is ultimately the answer on how to relax your mind in seconds.

Listen to some good meditation music

Select some good slow meditation music and listen to it. It will relieve you from the outer world and make you focus on your being.

There is also some good meditation music called binaural harmonics. When you listen to these meditative sounds through headphones it creates a slightly different tone in each ear. There is then a third beat that our brain creates from listening to these slightly differing tones which is called a binaural beat. The binaural harmonics help our two brain hemispheres become in synch, allowing us to reach an instant relaxation state. –

Focus on positivity

Focus only on positive things like your success, good times and eliminate negativity from your day menu. You will see how you be relieved and you will feel good and hence relaxation of your mind.

Do some yoga

Yoga relaxes both your body and mind. This is great, try this out and you will see how this helps.

Do some exercises

Light to moderate daily exercise combats stress. For some people, it helps to visualize a quiet, relaxing scene

Indulge in your favorite activities or do something nice.

Plan something that you can look forward to. A trip, a party, a date etc. This helps change your thought process and focus on what you want and enjoy.

Do something nice for someone else. This one is really powerful as it will make you feel better immediately.

Complete tasks

Complete your tasks first. The completion of tasks let you feel that nothing important is left.

Some great books to help you in Relaxing your mind and Body

Thanks this hub is great. To relax I sometimes listen to Kenny G; and I also do aerobic exercises about twice a week. I like relaxing moods and lifestyle.
