It can also result in stress and anxiety as well. Hair on the scalp is very important for good looks. Hair loss can also make you look older. Hence, it is very important to get the right kind of treatment at the right time to save your crowning glory.

Although there are several treatments and products available on the market to prevent hair loss, it's best to start taking good care of our hair at all times before it's too late.

Here are some great tips for hair loss prevention.

Avoid chemical based products

Exposure of hair to chemical products is one of the main reasons of hair loss. Frequent use of hair dyes, serums, hair sprays, gels, hair straightening machines and perming products result in breakage of hair as the chemicals used can be detrimental. If possible, stay away from chemical based products.

Eat healthy

We  need to get healthy from the inside to get hair that’s strong and shine. Eat  lots of fresh fruits and salads to promote hair growth. Include Soya products, sprouts, spinach, cabbage, carrots, fish, chicken, dairy products and papaya to promote hair growth prevent hair loss. You can also see the article on how to get strong healthy hair for some ideas on what food to take.

Pillow cases

Change your pillow cases. Use satin or silk pillow cases as these are thought to reduce friction  as compared to sleeping on a cotton pillowcase and thus prevent hair loss.

Hair Style

Take note on the kind of hair style that you are having. For instance, don’t pull your hair too tightly when making a ponytail. Avoid doing complicated hairstyles and using harsh hair accessories. When blowing drying or when using curling irons on your hair, avoid using high heat and go gentle to prevent damage to the hair.

Check for dandruff

Do you have dandruff? Dandruff can be the main cause for hair loss. You can let your doctor or trichologist prescribe a special shampoo or medication to remove dandruff. Once your scalp is dandruff free, there would be no hair fall.
