Healing Rain ~ A Poem and More

Theresa loves to share her true life accounts when the Lord shows up mightily in her life. She knows He still performs miracles today.

Our Faith

Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” (Mark 5:34)

In Dedication ...

I dedicate this poem and song to my sweet and precious granddaughter, who has a broken wing at the moment. Although, the doctors say she may not regain full use of her left arm due to severe nerve damage, I know God can heal and I am placing my full faith and trust in Him to heal her so that she will regain full use of her broken wing. The poem is written in such a way as I would imagine our sweet Lord is speaking to her at this time.

The poem was written during the time she was not able to move about but be very still.

Now, after her appointment with the doctor, she was cleared to go on to kindergarten, and is able to smile. Whether she regains the full use of her left arm remains to be seen; however, I have faith God can and will heal her completely.

One of Her Favorite Things

O' Sweet Child's favorite pink, purple and gold rocking horse that she received on her very first birthday from her "Nanny" and "Paw Paw" and that she still loves to this day, even more so than at age one! It has her name painted on the back rest.

This poem was written at the time her arm was first broken last Thursday, on the same day my husband had knee surgery, then we received the call that she was taken to the hospital that same day to have surgery as well. She was on the playground at daycare, just a week before she was to start kindergarten, when the bad break happened. She has two pins in her elbow, which is dislocated. One pin is very close to a nerve, and she may not have use of her "pinky" (fifth digit) finger. As stated above, on a more serious note, the doctors are saying she may never regain full use of her left arm due to severe nerve damage.

His Healing Rain

O' Sweet Child

O’ sweet child

With a broken wing

One without a song to sing

Lying there, so very still

Please know this is not My will

I do understand you most of all

For I truly hear when you call

I’ll wash it all away, you’ll see

That pain, when you lean on Me

Now for all the world to see

In you, reflects the light of me

My healing rain now does fall

For I know you feel so very small

Bravely take My hand

And I will help you to firmly stand

Do not let go

For I truly want you to know

I am bringing My healing rain

To wash away yesterday’s pain

You have a lot to gain

By just washing in My healing rain

O' sweet child

Prayer for Healing of a Sweet Child

Heavenly Father, You are the Great "I AM" and with You nothing is impossible. LORD I have seen Your mighty hand at work in the lives of many.

I ask now in the precious and most powerful name that is above all names, that of Jesus Christ, to send Your Holy Spirit into this situation. I ask for divine healing in this child LORD.

We rebuke and deny the enemy's attempts to steal from this child the childhood she is destined to have according to Your plans Father.

We call forth Your healing touch in this precious child, LORD. Bring comfort and peace into the lives of her parents and all of her family as our hearts grieve even now at the concern of the possible outcomes but I know You are faithful and merciful and above all, loving.

I stand in the gap for this child and declare healing in this child. I come with this prayer and petition and with thanksgiving for who You are and for the answers You will give.

In Jesus Name, Amen!

Sending prayers and get-well thoughts to you and your family.

I just saw a man at the post office this week who I haven't seen since elementary school. I recognized him immediately because of his unique eyes. He remembered my name too. We got to talking and he told me he broke his neck a year ago. It took six months but he is walking again. I would have never known the man broke his neck if he hadn't shown me the scar. Your granddaughter is a lucky little lady to have such a wonderful family.

      Hi CraftytotheCore,

I love your hubber name! Thank you so much for the prayers and get-well thoughts. We appreciate all for sure.

I appreciate you sharing that story about the man at the post office you met who had a broken neck. Many have shared such stories with me too about the same thing of when they or someone they knew had such a terrible break with severe nerve damage and one can not even tell this day that anything had ever happened. So, I feel much better knowing of such, even though the doctor is not saying so ... the doctor is saying MAY not regain FULL use, so there is hope and with all the prayers going out, I just believe she will recover fully.

Our family is blessed to have such a lovely child who brings so much joy into our life, along with our other grandchildren.

      Have a great weekend.

      Hi Dearest Bill,

Aw, thank you so much for your sweet and most kind comments here. She does have a beautiful smile most days, except maybe on that one day and a few thereafter.

I know, it just pains my heart for any child who is hurting in any way. I know you have a special place in your heart for the little ones and their being happy in this world.

I have written of all of my wonderful grandchildren, who my son has blessed me with, and I just wanted this one to be special solely for her this time. I am so blessed to have such little ones in my life who bring many smiles and joy, and I could not even imagine life without their love in my life.

What is so ironic, Scarlett is such a nurturer, for each time that any of us get the smallest of boo boos, she will comfort us and want to make it better and say, "Oh, don't worry Paw Paw, I will take care of you, and it will be alright." She is such a sweetheart and is always so concerned about others' boo boos.

Blessings to you too, and I hope your weekend is wonderful,

Powerful and beautiful. Tonight at a 12 step meeting we were reading a chapter out of the big book called a Vision for You. As everyone took turns reading and then hearing the testimonies of how broken and shattered each of us was when we hit our bottom, I marveled at how much of a miracle each one of us was. It reminded me of this story from my life:

I have a friend who owns many houses and rents them out. She's constantly pouring money into them because people trash them. So I was surprised a couple of years ago when she invited me to come to a new double wide she'd just bought to fix up and rent out. I was in no way prepared for what I saw.

The ceiling in the kitchen was so moldy it was falling on the floor and there were gaping holes in the ceiling. Everything, and I mean everything in that house was deplorable. I was stunned that it had not been condemned. She walked me around and showed me each disaster and said "We're going to do thus and so here, and thus and so there, yada yada." I could not fathom why she would buy something in that condition and think she could do anything with it." I tried to keep my mouth shut as it really wasn't any of my business. But I became so concerned for her I just couldn't help myself. I asked her why she would take on such a task, pointing out all the mind-boggling damage. She very cheerily said "Lori, you just don't have vision." It struck me, that comment, but I still thought she off her rocker.

In the ensuing months she gave me updates. It seemed so slow and arduous and I know it wasn't cheap, but she is very thrifty and has a way with getting a lot done on her own and has good people she hires for a good price. I kept thinking, Oh honey, what are you thinking?

At the end of about a year she invited me to come take a look. I could not close my mouth for the jaw was dropped and locked (as it was when I first saw it in its deplorable beginnings). It was magnificent. A work of art. I still marvel when I go there.

All this to say sweetheart, that God has a vision for each one of us - your little granddaughter included. God can take the most deplorable things and make them new, exceedingly abundantly beyond what we could think or ask.

And listen, whatever happens, whether God heals her completely, or there are limitations, God is creating something beautiful. In the end, it is the transformed heart that is the greatest miracle, where God's glory shines brightest. Praying for you and your family. Much love,

      Lamb

The wonderful thing about children is that they can smile (so long as those around them are able to allow hope and faith to shine through as well) through their pain or as it subsides even as other challenges arise. They have this incredible ability to adapt when necessary, and based on that beautiful smile, I have no doubt that she will go on to inspire others with an abundance of joy, with or without full use of her arm. "Full" healing is more than physical healing. She will be healed and blessed in ways you cannot fathom now. Big hugs to you, sweet friend!

      Hi precious Lamb,

Thank you for sharing here and that is certainly an interesting story indeed! You know, I have been thinking on all of this this past night, and the Lord reminded me of the many trials of many and myself included, that He does hear and He most certainly can heal, as He has done so in my life. Yet, there are times (during the time of trial, but much later) we may not understand about His plans for our lives being perfect and better than any we can ever come up even with having to go through hardships and such. Then when we look back, we do understand His plan for our lives as always being much better than we could have planned, despite it not being what we would have wanted at the time. In looking back, we can understand such.

Yes, whatever His plans are for this little angel, we know she will be just fine with or without limitations in this life, and will excel in spite of such. I am continuing to pray His will in her life, and we know His will... will be done.

      Have a beautiful weekend.

God bless you dearest Lamb. Love you, Faith Reaper

      Dear Frank,

Thank you for such sweet and beautiful comments here. I will trust in Him to watch over my family as I place my full faith in Him to do so for my little angel's recovery ...whatever is His will.

I am so glad you love the poem and the photos too. I really attempted to write it as if she were reading it. I am no angel, but she sure is my little angel, along with my other two little darlings of angels, with whom I am blessed.

My front porch has nice shade and so serene with the gentle breeze blowing and the leaves rustling as the wind passes through, and with a glass of cool iced tea (sweet or not), it doesn't get any better. You are welcome to sit in the shade there : ) Hmm, now, I want to venture out to enjoy the serenity.

Have a wonderful long holiday weekend, well, I hope it is a long one for you, and try not to "Labor" too much.

      Hugs, Faith Reaper

Aw, thank you so much for the lovely comments and positive thoughts as to her healing. I am glad you shared about your nerves damage and I know you had such a terrible accident on your Harley, which may be where you suffered with such terrible nerved damage. Nerve damage is truly horrible indeed, but I am glad you shared with me, that it gets better, although it is soooo slow in healing.

Yes, that is going to be a glorious day when she is able to fly again with a fully recovered broken wing, either way she will fly despite whatever!

Thank you for the good FAITH with tight HUGS.

Beautiful and an awesome poem with a lot of complementing material! I loved it.

This reminded me of my 3 sisters, 4 years apart in age, but having a broken wing at exactly the same individual age when trying to learn roller blades. Since they are much younger, I couldn't express my feelings during their ordeals as I was a young adult already. But now we all share those experiences vividly.

This too will pass and then you all will have great memories down the road to share and laugh at.

Hi my friend who is always sending Angels, PS,

Your comment is bittersweet, now knowing of your departure, for now, from HP : ( ... Yes, you know of all people of the most serious of issues as relates to our precious loved ones indeed! What is getting to me the most is just knowing of the severe nerve damage and how that is going to be such a slow process of healing, but I have been hearing so much as to her young age, which all are saying makes a difference, maybe as to just a mere break, but not sure as to the severe nerve damage that is present. You are right, we cannot protect them at all from such things, but can truly place them in His care and trust all will be just fine.

My heart breaks for any child who is hurting or suffering, especially now, for those around the world at this very moment in the most horrific means!

Thank you for the vote up and share, but more importantly for your friendship!

God bless you. In His Love Always, Faith Reaper

      Dear Maria,

Yes, she is one to not be kept down for long! And only time will tell about the nerve damage and the regaining full use of her arm. Full use or not, she will be just fine.

Yes, now you get to see her "new do" ... well, as you already know the story behind that : ) I will get around to writing something with a bit of humor about the "new do" and Lily's too at a later date... where have all the curls gone ... : ) Maybe I will call it "The New Do ... Boo Hoo" limericks or something. You know how to make one smile.

Thank you for keeping all in your thoughts and prayers, and for your thoughtfulness in other areas as well. I will make updates as relates to your thoughtfulness ... once I see her again in person. Theresa,

Yes the youngest one of them had a radial nerve dysfunction and went through treatment. Her injury and dysfunction healed in couple of years. When she hurt herself, I had already left for college. I never realized the magnitude of her injury. I still live with a guilt, but when we meet each other, it is always the peace and tranquility of our childhood that we celebrate rather than dwell on her injury, treatment, and my teenage irresponsibility.

Oh, thank you so much, Suhail, for sharing such. I am glad to know such a traumatic injury healed, although it did take time. I am sure she does not even think about your not realizing the magnitude of her injury due to you being a teenager and all, and it is always best to celebrate the good memories and not dwell on past injuries that are now healed.

Thank you for commenting back. I appreciate it. Blessings to you and yours.

Your hub and poem and photos are all beautiful in every way, Faith. Your precious Scarlett is such a little angel. My prayers and hopes for her full recovery are with you both.

I had very fragile bones as a child and at different times broke each of my arms and my right leg was so badly broken and bent, the doctors were sure I'd never be able to walk normally. Mother refused to accept that and learned from a chiropractor how to massage it to help straighten it (after the bones had healed). That therapy was painful, but was guided by love; I have walked on it ever since then, when I was but 7. Miracles do happen.

Yes, grandchildren are wonderful. My seven grands and 2 step-grands range from ages 13 to age 37, and my 13 great-grandchildren, including one step-great, range from 9 months to 18! Each of them is so precious and special, such a blessing and a gift!

I appreciate you so much for sharing with me about your very fragile bones as a child, and all of what you went through, and that you have walked even after the doctors were sure you were never to walk normally again! Yes, miracles do happen, and I am glad you told me of how your mother refused to accept that and about the chiropractor. I will be sure to mention about the massage in helping to straighten her arm out. I know the therapy was very painful, and as you have stated, and when guided by love, you have walked! I do believe miracles happen without a doubt.

Thank you, again, for sharing here, as I have received a blessing from your visit this day in knowing about all of that and here you are just fine!

Oh, yes, each grandchild is precious beyond measure. Scarlett is five, Lily is three and Landon is about to be 11 months old. My son blessed me with all of mine at his very young age of 19! My daughter is not married yet and she is five years older than my son. However, I told her there is plenty of time.

You have been blessed with so many precious gifts of all the grands and great-grandchildren!

I appreciate you and the smile you have brought to my face this day.

Yes, she is a delight and brings much joy to our lives. And she is very strong-willed and determined, so the name Scarlett, in that respect, fits her so well : ) Actually, my son, at the time of her birth, really loved that young actress who is popular now, Scarlett Johansson hehehe, and so now we have a Scarlett in the family.

Yes, the more prayer warriors, the better. Thank you for sharing about your precious oldest when he was 3. Prayers and God intervening does it every single time.

One time ... another story, but I know the Lord sent an angel to minister to me at the precise time, for this complete stranger, who seemed to be almost nine feet tall (I mean tall), who did not know me at all, walked into where I was and came right up to me and looked me in the eyes, and said, "Doctors are doctors, but God is God!" and then he left. Wow, so true. I do know that God uses doctors to heal too.

      Faith,

I do not know why I get notices regarding some of those I follow and not others or I would have been my sooner. I hope that in the interim your precious Scarlett is healing more every day, and I hope your husband is mending as well. And I hope that you dear, Faith is being cared for as you so care for others. I know the one above is providing the right way for all to mend. Many Blessing and Love I am sending your way.

      Hi sweet Kim (ocfireflies),

Well, I am so glad you are here now. It seems to be a growing problem about the notifications, as I do not get some as well, when I am following someone.

Thank you so much for the well wishes, and yes they are both healing well. In fact, just this day, Scarlett had the pins taken out of her elbow...ouch! However, I just talked with her and she sounded just fine and really happy for she received a surprise package in the mail full of much to bring delight.

Oh, yes, without a doubt, His healing hand is upon us all.

Blessings and love to you and yours too,

      Faith Reaper

      I appreciate you asking.

Though God slay me yet will I trust him, remember me in your prayer and so will I do the same to you and yours. Lovely pictures she is such a sweety I adore horses so that's my favourite picture.

      Hi Jo (LadyFiddler),

Thank you so much ... Oh, sweetie, I will pray for your healing! Wow, that is a long time to not be well precious heart. Thank you for your prayers ... I do so appreciate them.

Yes, all seem to love the photo of her riding on the horse, with her, then, long hair. There is a story behind why her hair is chopped off and her younger sister too, had the most beautiful curls, which are all gone now. May write a hub on it ...funny story : ) and we know hair grows back!

She truly loves horses and not afraid one bit of them.

I will do so, and please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

      Love you too,

So wonderful to see you stopping by here this day! Thank you so much for your lovely comments. I am glad you enjoyed the photos. I love the one where she is on the horse the best when she had her hair long, and there is a story behind the short hair ... but that is for another day : )

She does have a sweet smile, and it may be hard to tell, but one of her front teeth is missing. She had the pins taken out of her elbow yesterday, and is chipper as ever. So, we are praying for full recovery as to her regaining full use of her arm. Thank you for the prayers.

Hugs and blessings to you too,

I missed on this hub, dear Faith Reaper. What can I add to the myriad of excellent comments. The Lord never makes mistakes... for some reason your little grand daughter is enduring this test of life at an early age. I hope she is feeling better by now and I pray for the health of your whole family. As always you have overdone yourself with a wonderful piece of inspiration. Thanks for spreading some love in this writing community, even though you are facing challenging issues of your own.

      Hi Dear Joseph,

Thank you so much for leaving such lovely and kind words here. I appreciate the beautiful scripture too. We had the girls up last weekend, and Scarlett has her cast off and pins were removed from her elbow the other week. Joseph, I will tell you the truth, my heart was overjoyed for she is able to move her arm up over her head, and she did so while doing ballerina twirls with both arms up in the air. Also, she is able to stretch outward, her elbow almost all the way and is in no pain whatsoever. She does do a little physical therapy exercise about five minutes a day with the elbow stretching outward. Further, her little pinky finger is just fine. In other words, I can see no nerve damage affects, as she can do everything as she always did! Praise Him, to God be the glory!

We had the best weekend, and she did not miss a beat. She was even dancing and clapping her hands to their little dvds they love to watch!

God is so good, and I had not one bit of doubt that He would heal her.

I do want to thank all who prayed and are praying for her here, for He heard. She has been going to school just fine with her little backpack and all.

I have some photos from last weekend, so I may add an update here.

Thank you dear Joseph for taking the time to read and leaving such kind comments from your heart.

God bless you. In His Love, Faith Reaper

      Hi Dear Devika,

Thank you so much. Receiving a Hubbie, was a great surprise to me for sure. It does mean a lot to me, for I know the votes come from fellow hubbers, and so it is like the Peoples Choice Awards. I do so love the Lord and hope that is what comes across in my writing ...that I place my full trust and faith in Him in any trail I may face. He is the reason I started writing on HP to glorify Him and not myself. I really do not think of myself of "religious" per se, but I sure do love the Lord. My prayer is that I do not sound too preachy in any of my hubs, but just convey a message of love and hope through my writings and in my commenting to others to encourage them.

      God bless you,

      Faith Reaper

      Hi Jo (LadyFiddler),

So lovely to see you stopping here this evening to check in and I do so appreciate you for doing so. That last photo was just recently updated the other weekend, and as you can see, she is raising both arms high in the air. I believe she has been healed. I see no evidence of nerve damage for she is doing everything she did prior to the injury! Praise Him! She is doing a little five minutes a day of physical therapy, where she is stretching out the part of her arm very slowly near her elbow . She has no pain. God's grace and mercy is amazing indeed!

I thank all who prayed, for He heard and He healed.

God bless you. In His Love, Faith Reaper
