Massage Therapy and its benefits

Massage therapy has been used for centuries and has always been considered a good way to improve your health and treat specific ailments. There are plenty of different types of massage techniques which span across many different cultures and all aim to promote natural healing. There are some very real health benefits associated with massage therapy that cannot be ignored, and regular massage therapy can promote health and mental wellbeing.

Here are the main health benefits of massage therapy:

It Improves Circulation, massage is an aid to removing toxins in the blood and encourages the energy in your body to circulate. This can improve your blood circulation and lymph circulation which in turn increases your strength and energy levels. It can also help your strength particularly in the winter when your body slows down due to the cold weather.

6. Enhances a calm mind
-encouraging a calm mind creates an avenue for creativity; it is during these times that our minds are most conducive to creative thinking, developing plans, organizing thoughts, and reducing stressful thoughts. Massage can encourage this state of mind by relaxing the entire body.

Massage aids a number of mental health issues. It will reduce anxiety as massage is a relaxant. Anxiety that is stored in the back and neck will show tension in the body, massage will ease this tension and will ease the mind giving a person a sense of relief. It will also give you a feeling of greater ease from relaxation and enhance your sense of wellbeing. Your mind will feel relaxed and calm, but you will also increase in mental alertness, giving you a feeling of a clear mind. The sense of calm felt from massage can also attribute to wellbeing and is an excellent tool for helping to treat anxiety and stress.

It promotes deeper breathing, breathing is vital for life and deeper breathing encourages increased oxygen circulation in the body which promotes healing and growth. Some people who have decreased oxygen circulation will have headaches and muscle pain that can worsen over time if not treated. Massage therapy promotes deeper breathing and increased oxygen intake which will heal your body.

Over time massage can improve your posture, its a natural aid to improve the spine and muscles around the spine. Its not an alternative treatment for any existing back ailments and these should be treated by a chiropractor, but consistent use of massage therapy will improve your spine and its muscles. It will also increase the health in you joints over time and will relieve points of joint pain and soreness.

It significantly improves the health of your skin, skin cells are significantly improved in health and in tone, the type of oil used by the massage therapist can also aid skin regeneration.

Massage therapy is an excellent way to pamper yourself and also get some good health benefits. It is especially beneficial to people who suffer from issues such as anxiety and stress and also promotes health and wellbeing.
