Follow these Activities in Summer

Proper Diet : Have a cup of mixed fresh berries-blackberries, blueberries, strawberries every day. Blueberries and Blackberries are rich in antioxidants. Fruit smoothies keeps you fresh throughout the summers, specially smoothies made with frozen yogurt or ice-cream can be extremely calorific. Healthy smoothies should be made of fruits, juices, low-fat yogurt and ice.

Exercise : Pick any one outdoor activity – hike, nature walk, tag games, cycling, swimming, etc. Exercising outdoors helps you shed that cooped-up feeling of gym workouts. If the temperature increases, join a gym, take up a step class or exercise by watching DVD’s at home.

Eyes Protection : Wear protective eye-wear, to protect your vision outdoors. Sunglasses prevent your vision outdoors. Sunglasses prevent cataracts, wrinkles around eyes, protect from UV rays. Consult your doctor about the best type.

Sleep Well : Avoid naps during the day unless you take them every day at the same time for same duration. Pay attention to good sleep hygiene by keeping scheduled bedtime and wake-up. Avoid alcohol within three hours of bedtime.

Swimming : Summer is the perfect time of the year for swimming. Start with ten minutes and increase the time over the following weeks by front crawls, breaststrokes or backstrokes to mix up your cardiac workout. A thirty minute session of swimming will burn almost four hundred calories! If swimming is not your cup of tea, then join water aerobic classes or create your own. You can even do yoga and stay fit.

Hair Protection : Hair suffers a lot during this time of the year. Sun-damage, heat, chlorine takes a toll on your hair. If you are planning to swim this summer, prefer anti-chlorine shampoo and conditioner. It is advisable to minimize the use of hairdryers, straighteners, etc.

Drink Water : High temperature in summer leads to dehydration, which results in headaches and dizzy spells! Drink at-least 15-20 glasses of water to keep yourself hydrated. It helps flush the toxic content. If you drink caffeinated beverage, triple the amount of water you drink. Water helps to maintain the balance between the body and skin. Heat and sweat can leave your body hydrated. Lack of water is harmful for your body. Thus, it is important to keep yourself hydrated. Add some low calorific flavors to water such as a piece of fruit, or coconut water.

Exfoliate : It helps to keep skin smooth and silky by removing dead skin cells. Simply use a loafer for a light scrub or make your own exfoliating lotion using a handful of oatmeal, milk and yogurt. After you exfoliate, follow with a hydrating body cream to seal in moisture, and always shield freshly exfoliated skin with an SPF.

Sunscreen : Applying sunscreen is not enough! Applying it enough and frequently will help as most people do not apply nearly as much daylight protection as they should. It is recommended to apply every two hour. Use of sunscreen lotion of at-least SPF 30 helps to protect skin from harmful UV rays.Mineral based sunscreen is recommended for people having sensitive skin. Apply sunscreen at-least 15-30 minutes before stepping out in the sun.

Soothe over-exposed skin : If you have forgot to apply sunscreen enough or frequently, the damage is done, but you don’t have to endure the pain. Super-soothing botanicals and cooling gels can help prevent and reduce redness and inflammation. After sun repair is recommended mainly in this case.

Tan : A tan may be popular summer look, but it indicates damage. Bombard your skin with age-fighting ingredients to help undo any damage that may occur, and to further protect it from the aging effects of UV. You can even make use of natural remedies for the same.

It is important to take care of your skin be it summers or winters. Make sure you follow skin care routine consisting of following steps :

1. Cleanse your face : Before cleaning your face, make sure you wash your hands so as to make sure no germs get transferred from your hands to face skin.

2. Wash you face with Face Wash : Choose a face wash based on your skin type only.

3. Toner : It is important to apply toner because it makes your skin feel and look fresh.

4. Moisturizer : Make sure your choose a moisturizing lotion instead of cream.

5. Apply Sunscreen : This is very important step during summers. Do not miss this step! Apply atleast SPF 30 sunscreen.
