Your body needs to burn and consume the energy in your food intake, which works best when you are still awake and active. If you eat dinner, for instance, an hour before you sleep, the content of the food is transformed into fat soluble that your body uses as "reserved energy". But as you continue to eat the following day, the fats accumulate in your body. Therefore, make sure you eat dinner at least three hours before you sleep.
