Bald-Headed? Hiding Hair Loss? Empowering Tips For Men And Women
Tired Of Being Mistaken For a Skinhead?
OK, well, maybe it’s not quite that bad...
...but there are a lot of people who find baldness very embarrassing, and I am not just talking about men!
Hair loss causes some women to hide their light under a bushel!
Women lose their hair, too!
While many people find a bald head on a man rather attractive, there are few who feel the same way about a bald-headed woman!
Don't be driven to extremes!
There are hair loss treatments to suit every need!
There are basically three ways to deal with hair loss. You can try shampoos and other topical treatments, medical or herbal supplements, and finally, if you are really intent, hair transplants.
Of course, before you do anything, you will want to consult your health professional and research all of the methods of restoring your hair that may be available to you. A good health professional will be able to tell you why you are losing your hair. It could just be typical spot baldness - or alopecia - caused by aging and changes in hormones, or it could be a disease or disorder that needs treatment.

Your health professional may recommend a shampoo or medicated product to massage into the scalp. He or she may simply recommend massage to stimulate circulation to the scalp.
Remember, some people like bald heads!
A healthy eating plan may do the trick!
Vitamin therapy or a healthy food plan may be just what the doctor ordered to restore healthy hair growth. If your loss of hair is caused by a disease or disorder, your health professional may prescribe a course of medication or herbal treatments to address the problem.
When you have tried everything else...
- Hair Transplants
If you have given all other options a good try without success, and you still feel you absolutely must have hair, you may want to look into hair transplants.
Or you may Boldly Go - Bald!
Do your homework!
Be sure to listen carefully to everything your health professional has to say on the matter. It is a good idea to look into the various treatments available on your own and compare the pros and cons. Before you make any decisions, be sure that you are well aware of the possible dangers and side effects that any course of treatment may cause.

An interesting subject. I have a dear friend, a woman, who has lost a great deal of hair due to thyroid disease. Her hair still looks OK, but you can see her scalp in the parts easily now when once her hair was so thick it was about 3 inches in diameter at least, when bunched together in a ponytail with one's hands in the back. Getting the right medication dosage with thyroid disease is helpful, but may not solve the problem entirely.
As for bald men, what's the big deal? On the one hand I think the fact that so much pressure is being put on men to have hair is sort of a comeuppance for their unreasonable requirement of physical perfection in women, and on the other hand I think it's ridiculous. Lots of bald men are sweethearts and the best guys in the world. Who cares if they have hair so long as they have what counts?
I think that some people care more than others about the quantity of hair on their head. Donald Trump comes to mind. Other people color their hair and some let it go natural. I think that it depends upon how secure people are in themselves and/or their emphasis is on more important things in life. I doubt that Mother Teresa fretted if some of her hair came out when she brushed it. She was focused on the needs of others.
I agree with the others. You have some great photos included in this hub. Genetics plays a role in baldness also. Many younger men actually shave their heads on purpose. Just proves that most men can look good with or without hair. Most women would not choose that look on purpose. Voted up and useful.
Wow. You have the best pics on this hub. Nice work.
And I can't imagine if all my hair is gone :)
The cigarette hair is fantastic and Patrick Steward looks awesome with his bald head. Some people don't need hair to look great but most DO!
A timely topic - it was just on the news about women and hair loss.
Looove the cigarette head - will forward to a heavy-smoker friend!
Nice hub. Liked the photographs specially the cigarette one. Keep them rolling
Good hub. Patrick Stewart is always the example I use to point out that bald guys can be pretty attractive. (I have to say that "cigarette head" is quite creative, isn't it? :) )
