Yes Banana or the plantain! Banana has been one of man/woman’s favorite foods for several centuries. It has been known to have existed as wild fruits in the Pacific and South Asian region (some species exist even today). Domesticated cultivation of plantains goes back to 8000 BC or even earlier. There are several references to the fruit in historic texts across the world.
In India the different parts of the entire plantain tree is used for several its many medicinal values. In India the corm (found below soil) which is used to propagate the banana tree is cleaned and crushed. The juice from the corm is used to help reduce effects (treat) jaundice.
