Homeopathy | Alternative Medicine

Updated on April 30, 2011

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is the second most widely used system of medicine in the world. It is a low cost medicine and having almost zero side effects. That is the route cause of its growing popularity. The use of Homeopathy is growing every year across the world.

The Founder of Homeopathy
Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843). Hahnemann is the founder of the Homeopathic system of medicine. He himself is a medical graduate graduated from medical school in 1779 and started his own medical practice. He soon began his first homeopathic experiments in 1790, as a result of his disillusionment with such common medical practices of the day as purging, bloodletting, and the use of toxic chemicals.

Basic Principles of Homeopathic.

Homeopathic is based on three basic principles:

1. Like cures like
A medicine can cure a disease if the symptoms of that disease is created when a healthy person consumes the same medicine.

2. Minimal Dose
The remedy is taken in an extremely dilute form; normally one part of the remedy to around 1,000,000,000,000 parts of water.

3. The Single Remedy
No matter how many symptoms are experienced, only one remedy is taken, and that remedy will be aimed at all those symptoms.

The cause of major success of Homeopathic.

  • · It is cheap and thereby affordable by the vast poor section of global population.
  • · Side effect is almost nil.
  • · It is considered to be natural.
  • · It works in harmony with the immune system.
  • · It is not addictive – it can be stopped as soon as the disease is cured.

The problem

The main issue of using Homeopathic medicine is its selection. Prescribing the right homeopathic remedy takes a little more time and patience than conventional medicine. It is a symptom-based system and exactly the right remedy needs to be taken for your symptoms. There is no such thing as a standard homeopathic headache .The remedy you take has to be matched to your particular problem - where it occurs, what aggravates it, what type of pain it is, what makes it feel worse, your state of mind and what other symptoms you experience. That is the reason why it is difficult to find a good Homeopathic doctor.

But still if you are interested in Homeopathic system probably you will select the better doctor from your locality.
