How And Why You Should Believe In Yourself

Updated on March 19, 2012

NEVER STOP BELIEVING IN YOURSELF

Many people have the feeling inside of them that they are worthless and mean nothing to anyone. This is truly heartbreaking to me to hear that many people really feel this way. Here I will try to explain how and why you should believe in yourself and never have that feeling of worthlessness.

You are a person and a human being just like the next person and you need to always remember others are no different than you are.

  • Other people breathe the same air as you do.
  • They walk the same earth as you do.
  • They may speak different languages, but speak through mouths just like you.
  • They wake up and go to sleep each day just as you do.
  • They feed them self with food and water just like you.

So just by saying these few things, why do so many people feel as if they don't even belong here on earth and why do they not believe in their self? Thinking you are a nothing is not healthy and also such a depressing way to live. I can see why many people that think this way do things to themselves that I'd rather not really speak of. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, so I will leave it at that.

Can you imagine what you can accomplish in life if you only would believe in yourself? You could move mountains, as they say, if you only gave yourself a fair chance and BELIEVED in your self.

HOW TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

  • You must always tell yourself that you are the best at what you do.
  • You must always keep a positive attitude in life.
  • You need to give everything you do in life 100% of yourself.
  • You need to tell yourself you are just as good or if not better than everyone else.
  • Your self-esteem needs to be high.
  • You need to always have confidence in everything you do.
  • If you fail at doing something you need to get back up and try again until you achieve it.

WHY SHOULD YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

  • If you don't believe in yourself you will not get too far in life.
  • Never down yourself or say you can not do something.
  • You should love yourself before you can start loving others.
  • You are a person that should be respected just like you should respect others.
  • If you don't believe in yourself you will never achieve.
  • Never count yourself out.
  • Be the best you can be in anything you do in life.
  • Try to never think any negative thoughts, for that will bring you down, for sure.

Exactly and great advice. We are all connected on some level and what we think of ourselves matter more than what others think of us.

Sharm11 I am sorry you felt low todayBut I am so glad this article helped you somewhat. You have to stay positive as hard as it might be sometimes. I was a negative person and always wondered why my life was so upside down. My problem was alcohol and since I stopped drinking in 2009 and began thinking and acting positive my life changed completely. Hang in there my friend and everything will be just fine. Keep your chin up!!!

@ Klara- Ah thank you Klara for your comment and for reading. If you stop believing in yourself you are doomed. That was my problem and one of the reason I got addicted to alcohol. Once I stopped drinking I saw another person in that mirror and I loved what I saw. I finally surrender and making a wonderful life for me and Linda. Klara I just can't tell you how happy I am now. Everything I ever dreamed of is coming true one step at a time.

God Bless you Dear and thank you :):):)

      Email sent to you :)

And we all bleed the same, and we all hurt the same, too. Money, career, education, looks don't make a difference when it comes down to it. We're all heading to the same place, and all we can ever hope for is do the very best we can, and live as well as we can.

      Beautiful article, Mark.

Michele, Thanks for you nice comment. I found all this out about believing when I quit drinking and that showed me if I believe in myself I can do anything and so can everyone in the world.

This hub is wonderful. So many people do not believe this and that is the reason they go back out. A lot of them die when they do that. I read your hubs, but sometimes don't comment, but they are all good.

@ Anna. Thanks for reading Anna and you are so right, all of us learn something new each day and that is what makes all of us special in our own way. When we stop learning or try to learn we then stand still in life. I wish you well Anna and hope you continue to believe in yourself more and more each day as I will do the same.

Hello Debbie, thanks for your kind words. You know back in my drinking days (2 1/2 years ago) I was always negative and felt I had nothing in my life but alcohol, but now, sober I know what it feels like to live life positive and believe in myself and that is why I wrote this for other to hopefully start believing in their self and start living life like they should.

Thanks too for the Vote UP!!

This points out all the things I have learn and are still learning everyday. Once I became ill and not able to do all the things I used to, I had to make decisions regarding ways of seeing myself and value myself although my life took a turn. Believing in what I am is what takes care of my essence. Thank you for writing this nice article.

What great advice.. we as humans do tend to be so negative. until I started working for Mary Kay cosmetics and they started teaching me how to be positive and sometimes I have a tendency to step right back and start being negative and then I snap out of it. wondering why am I doing that to myself?

love your hub... voted way up

      take care
