I lost 10 kgs in 8 weeks

No I am not selling any miracle weight loss drug or product. It was all done the old fashioned way.
If you want to know how here's the details. I was about 56 kgs when I got married. Then the next three years saw my husband and me getting comfortable with each other. I gained two kgs each year.
So by the time I got pregnant I was at 62kgs. And now that I was pregnant there was no way to control my diet. I was eating as healthy as possible, but hey gaining weight is expected at this stage.
When I delivered I was 72 kgs. Now everyone said once the baby has you running around after him you'll drop the weight really fast. A couple of years went by I became 75 kgs. Now I decided I was fat.
I mean close to obese fat. My clothes from before pregnancy were still in the trunk I had packed them. I took them out and had a look. There was no way I was fitting into any of these pants or sari blouses. Skirts and shirts have a way of accommodating you.
Eat Well, Just Eat Less
So when I first decided to lose some weight, I knew I was not going to go on a crash diet. I am the kind who likes her food. At first i limited my calorie intake to 1200 calories per day, but now I consume 1800 calories per day. If you want to count your calories you can download a list from the internet. Many sites give you the calorie count of the food you eat.
So I knew I had to eat sensibly and push up the calorie burning. Only I get bored very easily and so I knew variety was the order of the day. That is why I started a list of things that I could do that helped me to burn fat.
I have always loved cycling even as a child. I got my husband a cycle for Valentine's Day. He never used it and six months later I decided to put it to good use. So every morning after I loaded my kid into his school bus I would go cycling. I usually did between 3 to 5 kms each morning and came home.

I am not a teacher of yoga so I do not remember the exact names of all the asanas, but if you do an art of living course they will teach you all the basic asanas that help exercise your muscles. Some of them are really simple, while others will take some doing.
In the evening I would go for a 5km walk. Initially it would take me more than an hour to cover the distance, but as I got fitter and my stamina increased I got faster. Now I can do it in 45 minutes on a good day. Although I find walking alone very boring and when I walk with a friend the speed tends to suffer.
5 Tummy Tucks and Push Ups
These are simple to do and can be done any time you have a few minutes to spare. I usually do these at least an hour after eating. So as not to affect the digestion.
I also have a habit of watching TV on my tummy and swinging my legs. You really burn calories and don't even notice. A fifteen minute spell is worth ten minutes of walking in terms of calorie loss. Not bad for just watching TV.
On the whole I lost 10 kgs which would be around 20 pounds. I have managed to keep off the weight for almost nine months. So I'm quite sure that the way I went about losing weight was right. I have more stamina, and am not obese. I may never be slim, but I'll settle for pleasantly plump.
