      You are right in saying that any exercise will help you lose weight. You simply need to get out of breath and maintain it for a while, and do that on a regular basis. High intensity exercise like HIIT burn fat much more effectively, but long slow low intensity cardio is less stressful on the cns and easier to recover from. So both have their place.
