After having a hearty meal, I went to sleep and got up in the morning to find my hugely swollen lip and hives all over my hands which startled me. My doctor called it as hives allergic reaction. Hives are also called urticaria or angioedema. For the next two months, I have hives allergic reaction sometimes in my legs, sometimes back, or stomach, or inguinal area, thighs, even head was not spared. I have tried almost everything to cure hives but was only able to suppress it for a few days and again it recurred. So, in the quest of finding an ultimate solution for cure for hives, I have tried every kind of medication practices, be it western medication, Chinese herbs, German homeopathy, or Indian Ayurveda. At last after wasting money, time, energy, and patience, I got 100% hives remedy through Indian Ayurvedic herbs and that this herb is available free of cost and widely available.

So, when you have the question of what to do for hives, this herb known through multiple names in different parts of the world as Tinospora Cordifolia or giloy or guduchi or heartleaf moonseed provides you 100% hives remedy. In India, this is known as Giloy and available widely and freely.

How Can You Get Hives?

Hives is causes due to release of histamine as a response from our immune system when we eat something which our immune system thinks as allergen.

In normal layman's language you can call it allergy. We can become allergic to hundreds of things in our lifetime. Few are severe and few are not. If hives get severe, the only cure is either popping antihistamine allergy tablets whole life with lots of side effects or strengthening our immune system through herbs which has no side effects. So causes of hives lies in the immune system and once we correct it, hives disappear.

What To Do For Hives — Natural Remedies

I always for any ailment put greater emphasis on natural remedies, because these are toxic free, do not causes any side effects to our body, and yes natural remedies strengthen the body's internal healing response and instead of attacking it from outside. So for how do you treat hives, natural remedies provides us permanent cure.

As natural cure for hives I have tried home remedy for hives in two ways, both are equally effective, and I am going to describe both of them.

(1) Hives Home Remedies-I have treated myself with this natural cure for hives.

a) Take an empty heating bowl.

b) Fill two glasses of water in it.

c) Put a teaspoon of Guduchi or Giloy powder widely available in India free of cost or if you are in the Western World then purchase through any internet.

d) Crush 10 to 15 leaves of Neem or Indian Lilac or Margosa (scientific name is Azadirachta Indica) widely available in India free of cost. Alternately through Internet you can purchase Neem powder. So, either put crushed 10 to 15 leaves of Neem or two to three teaspoons of Neem powder in the bowl.

e) Boil the bowl till the two glasses reduces to one glass.

f) Cool this mixture or decoction till it is lukewarm and at appropriate temperature for drinking and then drinking it.

Note: Drink this mixture every alternate day for a month or two. Once you feel you are totally cured, keep drinking for a few days and then stop. This is the best home remedy for hives providing long term natural cure for hives suppressing the causes of hives by boosting your immune system.

(2) Hives Home Remedies-I have tried myself this home remedy for hives.

(a) Take an empty glass.

(b) Fill half of the glass with pomegranate juice.

(c) Fill the other half of the glass with Indian gooseberry juice (known as Amla in India) available widely in India or purchase through internet.

(d) Mix it well and drink it.

Note: Consume a glassful of this mixed juice twice a day daily for three months. This is very convenient home remedy for hives as this juice provides other vital nutrients also apart from cure for hives.

I hope whoever is suffering from this nostalgic recurring hives allergic reaction and looking for what to do for hives will surely get his hives cured by following the instructions in this article How Can You Get Hives — Natural Remedies

I've had the dreaded hives outbreaks on my face and neck for the last few years. It only seems to happen when I am doing a cleanse. I believe my immune system is unbalanced and overreacting. I cannot wait to try your suggestions. Thank you so very much for sharing!

I have a question regarding the boiled drink with the gaduchi and neem: after boiling do we strain the herbs out and drink like a tea? Or should we keep the herbs and drink them as well?

      Thank you:)

Thank you peachpurple for your review. Yes this skin problem is known as hives and is often caused with ingesting something with which we are allergic too. Our body gets allergic to so many things in life and then coming back to normal position may be in a few days to years or never. So, it is like listing and then de-listing things from the allergic chart throughout our life. But when we strengthen our immune system and rectifies the fault internally, our body responds very quickly for the long term instead of resorting to temporary measures.

Thanks Thelma for your insight into this article. You are true to say that these hives gives very uncomfortable feeling and we all pray that they should not return. If we drink the combination of these two herbs, this rectifies our immunological system and so stop any future recurrence of hives.

Hi moonlake! Nice to hear from you. I too have felt the same thing when I caught up with hive. This is basically a immunological dysfunction and giloy and Neem gives it a perfect remedy apart from their wellness quality of overall health benefits.

At first sign, take some Children's Benadryl liquid. I don't have time to boil and cool. My throat swells shut. I keep a bit on me in case of a bee sting too. IF you take it asap the first hive you will NOT get anymore hives at that time.

I have had hives twice. The first time I didn't know what caused it but it was awful. I was in the garden that morning so maybe something from the garden caused the hives. The second time was while having an angiogram. I told the doctor he was hurting my eye, he thought I was nuts until I told him my feet were itching. You should have seen them move once I said that. I had a giant hive on my eye and all over my body.

Just looking at your picture gives me the creeps remembering how they feel.

      Voted up.

Thanks bedbugabscond for your comment! I know it seems very bizarre to find hives all of a sudden but it is always like that. Our body's immune system can react to anything at any point of time and having handy home remedies are always helpful.

I never had hives in my life. Then one day I pull a pair of pants out of the laundry, they seemed clean to me. I did not remember wearing them. Before too long my legs were covered with hives. I still don't know what was on them, but my daughter had borrowed them, so who knows! Thanks for the advice, I had been so clueless about hives!

Hi Crissp! thank for your valuable feedback. As I too was suffering earlier, I got completely treated through Guduchi or Giloy and Neem decoction. It will rectify the immune system dysfunction from inside.

Very interesting. I get that annoying hives from time to time and it's damn itchy! My instant and temporary relief is to soak a towel in a hot water (tolerable) with rubbing alcohol and then pat it on the itchy part. Then, again as I said, this is temporary and only to relieve the itch but you're right, the hives could come back at any time.

I'd like to try your solutions here and will try to run at the nearest herbal store to find the ingredients.

This hub is useful and informative. Thanks for sharing.
