Exposure to certain conditions can aggravate facial aging. Environmental factors such as the sun, wind, and pollution can damage the appearance of the skin. Improper diet and lack of exercise are also factors that cause your skin to lose its youthfulness. Genetics also can play a role in the way your skin looks. There are natural ways to help keep your skin soft and supple that don't require creams or medications. Here are some preventative techniques for keeping your skin looking young:

  • Stay out of the sun or protect yourself from its harming ways. Direct exposure to sunlight is probably the number one reason that skin get its wrinkly appearance. Stay in shaded areas or use sun block to prevent the harmful ultraviolet rays from aging your skin.
  • Smoking is the second most harmful thing for your skin. Stop smoking, as the smoke damages the elastin in your skin. Elastin is responsible for keeping your skin flexible. Also, the nicotine in smoking blocks the flow of oxygen to the skin cells.
  • Exercise naturally keeps your skin healthy. It restores natural moistures and keeps the blood flowing to the skin..
  • Vitamins make sure your skin is in its healthiest condition. They are responsible for your skin regenerating new cells. Additionally, vitamins are very important for your overall health.
  • Diet should be balanced and contain plenty of fruits and vegetables. Add foods that are rich in anti-oxidants to help slow down the aging process.
  • Cleanse your skin at least twice per day. You will get rid of any bad cells that are at the surface.

In trying to reversing aging we are trying to bring our skin back to its original state, which is moisturized and elastic. There are many products that have been developed to help restore damaged and aging skin. Getting rid of wrinkles is possible.  If you are hoping to reverse the effects of aging and have younger looking skin, you should try the following:

  • Use retinols daily and you will find that they erase years off your face. They take off a lot of dead skin and reduce fine wrinkles.
  • Exfoliate your skin often; at least once a week. This keeps the dead skins cells off the surface and rejuvenates the glow.
  • Use antioxidants as they have been proven to reverse aging.
  • Use eye cream around the eyes as the skin surrounding them is very thin and is the first place wrinkles show up.
